Some say that the words spoken by a drunken person come truly from the interior and are worthy and sincere.
The Singer Adele appears to agree with this phrase by saying: “ a drunk tongue is an honest one’.
On an interview with the British newspaper The Sun, she confessed to have a “drunk diary”. Adele said: “ I used to have to lock myself away in my house, get pretty drunk and write a drunk diary – and that was the first time I could admit things to myself. A drunk tongue is an honest one in my opinion and the next morning I would read it through with an awful hangover and, in the cold light of day, had to absorb my feelings about myself. I was a bit scared that I wouldn’t be articulate enough. “
She continued: “When I was 18 or 19 I didn’t regret anything, I was very much a teenager and thought I knew it all. I started realizing my own flaws and my disappointments and I started regretting a lot of stuff. It was quite an awakening.”
Some of the lyrics for her second album ‘21’, actually came when she had already more than a couple of drinks.
Her album 21 has been nominated for the Mercury Prize Award this year, and she will be doing a Tour throughout UK next month.
