A goal four minutes into overtime off a shot from Matt D’Agostini gave the St. Louis Blues a 3-2 comeback win against the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday Night.

Jason Arnott and David Backes scored the tying goals for the Blues, while Brian Elliott made 27 saves to get the first star of the game. Brandon Sutter got a goal and an assist for the Hurricanes along with Jay Harrison, and Cam Ward stopped 40 shots.

Harrison scored the only goal in the first period to give Carolina the lead. Sutter, who assisted the first goal, scored in the early in the second period to double the lead for Carolina. Arnott and Backes were able to score two goals later on in the second period to tie the game up, and after an uneventful third period, were able to bring the game into overtime.

Finally, D’Agostini scored the go ahead goal in the early minutes of overtime, and the Blues handled the rest of the game defensively to get the win. Both teams have games the following day, St. Louis (3-4-0) prepare to face the Philadelphia Flyers and Carolina (3-2-2) travel to play the Winnipeg Jets.
