Just had to get that out of the way. Personally, I also like how the series is throwing back to the more “mundane” aspects of life with Buffy’s student loans coming due. For obvious reasons, that is an issue that extremely relevant to young people today. I’m a year older than the Scoobies are (in theory), so it’s been a pleasure to watch them deal with the same things as I have.

But I suppose that’s Joss Whedon’s genius!
