If you are creative and love to cook, here is your chance to turn that combination into an opportunity to create your own tomorrow with a culinary education.

It could start with a tuition scholarship to one of The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes. Enter either the high school senior (The Art Institutes Best Teen Chef Competition) or high school graduate (The Art Institutes Culinary Scholarship Competition) category and match your skills against others who share your passion.

The Art Institutes Best Teen Chef Competition, now in its thirteenth year, is an opportunity for high school seniors in the U.S. and Canada interested in pursuing a culinary career to experience the excitement and discipline of the industry. This year, for the first time, The Art Institutes are offering this opportunity to high school graduates with culinary ambitions as well.

Each participating Art Institutes school will name one first place winner in each category. A second place winner will also be named in the Best Teen Chef category at each participating Art Institutes school.

The winners will earn tuition scholarships – $4,000 for the Best Teen Chef winner, $1,000 for the second place winner in the high school senior category, and $1,500 for the first place winner of the high school graduate category.

“Students need equal parts inspiration and education to be successful in culinary arts. Every year we continue to be inspired by the talents and commitment of the emerging culinarians who enter our culinary competitions and are passionate about pursuing a culinary education.

I’m very excited that this year, we will offer the opportunity to earn a scholarship to high school graduates as well,” says Chef Michael Nenes, Assistant Vice President of Culinary Arts for The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes.

To be eligible to enter the competition, entrants must first submit a completed Entry & Release Form by February 3, 2012, to The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes location where they wish to enter the competition. Deadline for complete entries into the competition is February 24, 2012. Selected entrants will progress to Local Cook-Off Competitions at The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes locations on April 21, 2012.
