Real Time With Bill Maher continues its tenth season Friday, January 27, exclusively on HBO, with an instant replay at 11:00 p.m. following the live presentation.  Allowing Maher to offer his unique perspective on contemporary issues, the show includes an opening monologue, roundtable discussions with panelists, and interviews with in-studio and satellite guests.

The roundtable guests this week are journalist Martin Bashir, satirist Kennedy and Cal. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher; chef Mario Batali and former Fla. Rep. Mark Foley are interview guests.

A favorite of subscribers since his first special on the network in 1989, Maher has starred in nine solo specials on HBO, including the hour-long presentations “Bill Maher…But I’m Not Wrong,” “The Decider” and “I’m Swiss” (both nominated for an Emmy in the Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special category), “Victory Begins at Home,” “Be More Cynical,” “The Golden Goose Special” and “Stuff That Struck Me Funny,” and two half-hour stand-up specials, plus the HBO specials “30 Seconds Over Washington” and “Comic Relief VI™.”

Maher was the creator and host of “Politically Incorrect,” which was produced by HBO Downtown Productions and debuted on Comedy Central in 1993.  The series moved to ABC in 1997 and ran through 2002.

His latest book, “The New New Rules:  A Funny Look at How Everybody but Me Has Their Head Up Their Ass,” was published in November and made the New York Times bestseller list.  Maher’s 2006 book, “New Rules:  Polite Musings from a Timid Observer,” also made the New York Times bestseller list, as well as bestseller lists across the country.

He is also author of the books “When You Ride Alone You Ride with Bin Laden:  What the Government Should Be Telling Us to Help Fight the War on Terrorism,” “Does Anybody Have a Problem with That?  The Best of Politically Incorrect” and the novel “True Story.”  Maher produced and starred in the 2008 feature film “Religulous,” the seventh most successful documentary of all time.

Big fan of the show, but that Kennedy lady from L.A. radio almost ruined it tonight.

Please, please, never again have Kennedy on your show. However, if you enjoy her pitch and volume, hire a car alarm instead. With a remote. So that you can turn it off and we won’t have to listen to that infuriating screech that constantly interrupts and never stops…

2 fans of your show.

Couldn’t have said it any better or funnier!! I hated her! She ruined what could have been a terrific discussion. What a sad serving of the sublime and the riduclous–Bashir vs. this creep Kennedy. Where are the pie throwers when you really need them?

Oh my God, who is this Kennedy woman? She is a moron. It is almost as if her attractiveness allowed her to get away in life with verbosing the most ignorant shiiiiit you could ever hear. And whoever that Dana guy is clearlya fool.

Agree with all of the above comments especially regarding that obnoxious Kennedy woman. Bill, what were you thinking? The most unfortunate aspect about her continuous rant was that we never heard from Martin Bashir….what a miss, especially for those who aren’t familiar with him. Hope you can get him on for another show!

kennedy is a talking head, and couldn’t have been more pompous, rude, and ignorant

Agree with all the comments on Kennedy. I can’t believe anybody would want to listen to this shrill, annoying woman. Whenever she talked last night, and it was WAY too often, it was like fingernails on a chalkboard. I wish I could have been there just to shut her up.

Rep Dana Rohrabacher is clueless. Along with the Kennedy lady, he portrayed himself as a misinformed idiot. The comments of Rohrabacher clearly represent facts that has no interest to the people of the United States. With representatives of this caliber, we will never come together as people. In addition to a previous comment in this blog, the viewers missed out on comments from Martin Bashir. As a dedicated watcher of Real Time With Bill Maher, I was looking forward to hearing the comments of Mr. Bashir.

It was painful watching the recent show with that obnoxious idiot “Kennedy”. There is nothing redeeming about her/him, the constant noise, outbursts and over-talking were uncalled for. Baseball bat would have been in order. Please do not have this nutcase on anymore there is nothing added to the show,
Yoko Ono in her screeching 1960”s prime would have been more tolerable.

I agree with all the above comments. Kennedy’ was real obnoxious. I almost turned the show off. She’d rude and her screeching voice were almost unbearable. Rohrabacher is a typical Republican who doesn’t know the facts or is unwilling to acknowledge the truth. If Bill Maher wanted to stir up controversy he sure did. I’ really disappointed in these 2 choices.

Regarding Kennedy I see that I wasn’t alone. What a shrill and unpleasant toned woman. I don’t care about her point of view or who she thinks she speaks for just keep that voice off of television!

Every time Kennedy would speak, interrupting and running over every other guest on tonight’s show, I wanted to punch her in the fucking head. This chick has some serious mental disorders, including the overwhelming need to be the center of attenion coupled with an inability to ever shut the fuck up or take a breath with her 5 minute, screeching, run-on sentences with no point whatsoever. Whoever booked this annoying cunt on the show should be fired, beaten, and then fired again. Never, never never, bring her back – she sucks and was fired from MTV in like 1985 never to be rehired by anyone – for a reason. Because of her the interesting, intelligent guests such as Martin Bashir couldn’t get a word in edgewise.

That was one of the best Real Times I have ever watched. “Kennedy” ( love the name) is HOTT and added some lightness and feminine energy. It seemed to me that all the men performed for her. Her views did not match mine (except when she called Presidents all “figure head douchebags” ) but I hope Bill has her back. I actually hung in her every word and gesture.

Who I have no time for and who I would jail or tar and feather in the public square is Martin Bashir who wrote about (shamelessly and grotesquely exploited the foibles of and for his own gain) Lady Di and Michael Jackson. I am not fooled by Bashir’s calm composed demeanour. Ugly creep.

Like her or not, “Kennedy” danced with the conversation and was why the show was so lively. She played and was playful . People are hating on her for what? For making the show fun and being a great foil for Bill Mahar ‘s type of argument one upping humour? In case no one noticed, tBill Mahar came alive in the energy of that panel.

“Kennedy’s”. points were lucid. Can anyone post one single things she said that did not make sense? I assert no they cannot.

I have seen shows where people were polite and sat there like logs, and the conversation was dead and you could see Bill Mahar dying on the vine. He prays for shows like that one. I started watching it and could not turn it off.

I bet a million bucks he has that exact 3 guests back again, ESPECIALLY “Kennedy”.

Yes, I can point out about a dozen things that didn’t make sense… Atheism is a religion. She’s an idiot, and she backed up one of her assertions by saying “I’m a Philosophy major”. WHO CARES??? Oh, so we’re supposed to think, ” She’s a Philosophy major, so she must be right” Give me a break.

There is nothing that can be said about “Kennedy” that is not also be said about Bill Mahar. They are both interruptive, obnoxious and playful, she was like a female Bill, inasmuch as she could be with Mahar leading the format. The way he corals guests and keeps the tone light and playful is so skilful. I am amazed that people are hating on a guest that was like a firecracker on that show.

But of course, I don’t hear anyone saying they turned the tV off.

OMG that Kennedy woman was the most obnoxious person I ever saw. NEVER NEVER NEVER have her on again

Regarding Kennedy, I feel like shouldn’t be insulting her, if you don’t agree with her then state your reasons and talk like adults, let’s not get into the juvenile insults that seems to have become apart of all debates. Now I don’t agree with her on most things and I feel like she was trying to push sexism for some reason, when talking about how this anti Obama propaganda is clearly racism how is bringin up sexism appropriate? I also feel bad for Mr. Bashir he barley got to talk.

Why is it childish to be annoyed by someone’s demeanor and the sound of their voice? I’m an adult and I find some people’s voices grating, if I point that out I”m somehow being childish? Yes she made the show lively but she spilled over the line into rude and obnoxious several times, this made the show frustrating to watch. Talking over people and dominating the conversation rousing though it may be, it roused my ire and made me want to yell “shut UP!” She made a few points I agreed with but she was way too screechy about it.

Surprised more do not remember “Kennedy” from her days as an MTV VJ.
I had no idea she was a massive idiot but once you hear “Reason Magazine” you know you will be dealing with a self congratulatory asshole of the highest degree. Bashir is THE MAN! And I hope Bill has him back with a better panel. Mario was good and made decent points.

Also I highly recommend every YouTube Martin Bashir’s recent interview with everyones favorite deadbeat dad congresman Joe Walsh.
