I am on xanax to help me sleep because all the other sleep medications have failed me because of ehlers danlos syndrome. But I don't use it every day. I only use it on the really hectic pain days when I know sleep will be hard to come by. I guess it probably does help me relax enough to sleep but it only allows me to sleep for 3-4 hours but I am on the lowest dose and refuse to increase it and have been on it for years. The problem with medications with people is tolerance levels. Your tolerance is different than everyone else's so if you continuously increase it eventually you will get to the highest level and have no where else to go with that medication so they will end up adding something else because of the tolerance level. That is the issue. I think there is not enough TRUTH in what doctors AND patients are saying AND doing with one another.
