Texas & Oklahoma: Over 6,000 Jobs Accessible to Veterans and Military Spouses

Posted by: TP Newswire    Tags:  Dr. Biden, jobs for veterans, Joining Forces Initiative, Kevin O'Brien, Milicruit, Milicruit career fair, military spouses, military veterans, National Governors Association, national virtual career fair, NGA, Oklahoma virtual career, Texas and Oklahoma virtual career fair    Posted date:  February 29, 2012  |  No comment

UBM Studios’ Milicruit, the recognized leader in virtual career fairs for veterans and military spouses, and the Military Officers Association of America announce the date of the Texas and Oklahoma virtual career fair for service members, veterans, and military spouses to be held on March 28, 2012 at www.veteranscareerfair.com

In an effort to find 10,000 jobs for veterans and military spouses in 2012, Milicruit has added more regionally focused events to their existing national career fair schedule. The Texas and Oklahoma virtual career fair will allow active service members, guard/reservists, veterans, and military spouses the opportunity to meet and interact in real time with industry leading employers from a wide range of industries with jobs focused in Texas and Oklahoma.

“In 2011, we were able to help over 4,000 veterans and military spouses find gainful employment with our employer partners, and we wanted to raise the bar in 2012 to 10,000. Events such as the Texas and Oklahoma virtual career fair will assist us in making that goal a reality. We have a great lineup of employers that represent over 6,000 jobs available between the 2 states, and it is our intention to fill as many of them as we can with veterans and military spouses,” said Kevin O’Brien, VP Business Development, UBM Studios’ Milicruit.

Milicruit makes it easy for an employer to participate in their virtual career fairs by handling all of the design, training, and tracking of the traffic to their virtual booth. The employer simply needs to say yes, and agree to staff the virtual booth during the live career fair hours. Employers wishing to see a demonstration, or needing more information can send an email to info@milicruit.com. There is also a short video overview on the Milicruit service here http://www.screencast.com/t/IcnWdSia.

“It is great to see so many employers and government agencies committed to tackling the unemployment rate so many of our veterans and military spouses are currently facing, and we are proud to support all efforts to deal with this issue. We are especially proud to support the First Lady and Dr. Biden’s Joining Forces Initiative.

On February 27, the First Lady and Dr. Biden addressed the National Governors Association (NGA) winter meeting and urged governors to do all they can to take action to support America’s military spouses, and the Texas and Oklahoma event will do just that by helping them find gainful employment with some of America’s greatest companies,” added O’Brien.

Milicruit also hosts national virtual career fairs such as the event on February 23rd which drew over 32,000 visitors in one day, and more than 28,000 jobs were available from 45 industry leading employers and federal agencies.
