San Diego, U.S.A. – On April 24, Slacker launched The Wanted Showcase, a Slacker Radio station that is programmed and hosted by the chart-topping pop band The Wanted.

This completely free showcase station features music by the band along with exclusive commentary by members Tom Parker, Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes. The Wanted Showcase is now available in the Artist Showcase category on all Slacker smartphone applications, connected home entertainment devices and on the web at http://www.Slacker.com/TheWanted.

The Wanted Showcase is only available on Slacker Radio. It highlights songs by the band including tracks from their United States and Canada debut EP just released today. Also on the station are hundreds of hand-selected songs that have inspired or influenced The Wanted along with personal stories and commentary. Bands and artists on this station range from Blink-182 and Justin Bieber to Adele and Stevie Wonder.

This Artist Showcase also features exclusive acoustic live performances by The Wanted, recorded while visiting Slacker’s studios. To watch exclusive videos of The Wanted performing “Glad You Came,” a cover of “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls and the making of The Wanted Showcase Station, visit:http://bit.ly/SlackerRadioTheWanted

“It was amazing to pick our favorite songs and be able to share them with our fans. All of our choices are so different that listeners will get a massive variety of music,” said Nathan Sykes of The Wanted. “We love music and hosting our station on Slacker Radio will give all our fans not only the chance to hear our eclectic music tastes, but also to hear why we picked them.”

“This exclusive station will be a great experience for both fans of The Wanted and new listeners alike,” said Scott Riggs, senior director of radio at Slacker. “Not only are they talented singers and performers, they also have a real appreciation for music. The Wanted Showcase on Slacker will give fans a different, very personal perspective on who the band is and why they love what they do.”

The Wanted is a British pop group that is reigniting the world’s appreciation for boy bands. Comprised of five charming members with strong voices and catchy lyrics, The Wanted is quickly rising to fame. Their premiere United States single “Glad You Came” was featured on Fox’s Glee, and shortly thereafter The Wanted became the highest charting UK boy band in the United States on Billboard Hot 100′s Top 10, peaking at number 3. They are also the first boy band to hit number 1 on Billboard’s Pop Songs chart with a debut single since Hanson’s “MMMBop” in 1997.

Slacker’s Artist Showcase stations are hosted and curated by the artists, giving listeners insight into the musical influences and personal stories of teenage rebellion, family memories and career triumphs of their favorite musicians. Artist Showcase stations feature a diverse and growing array of genres, further emphasizing Slacker’s dedication to being the ultimate personalized radio and music discovery resource.

Artist Showcase stations can be enjoyed anywhere that Slacker is available: on all major smartphones, the iPad, in Ford vehicles with SYNC AppLink, connected home devices including Sonos and online at http://www.Slacker.com. Wherever they tune in, Slacker listeners have instant access to their favorite music, artist profiles, album reviews and album cover art. On-demand access to the Slacker music library is also available with Premium Radio. To get the free Slacker mobile application, simply direct your mobile web browser to www.Slacker.com.

About The Wanted
Make no mistake about it: The Wanted are having the time of their lives. Only a year on from their huge Number One debut single ‘All Time Low’ and they have already become one of Britain’s biggest, most brilliant pop bands, living a dream that has far surpassed even their most optimistic expectations and all with their best mates at their side.

With their ferociously infectious tunes, rock solid friendship and laddish charms, they have stamped all over the typical boy band mold and brought a blast of much needed fresh air to British pop music.
