Shark Fishing Sweepstakes Announce Winner

Miami, U.S.A. – 1SaleADay.com, home to the largest independently owned daily deal website, announced the winner of its “Shark Fishing with the Bosses” sweepstakes (catch and release). Generating an unprecedented response from 1SaleADay.com’s Facebook fan base of nearly 375,000 shoppers, the contest was won by Tara Leigh of Palm Beach, Florida.

Tara’s grand prize is an all-expense-paid, South Florida deep sea fishing adventure for two, accompanied by top 1SaleADay.com executives Ben and Eli Federman. Her entry was chosen from among several thousand enthusiastic Facebook followers who entered the promotion. The trip is scheduled for August 13, 2012.

“We love our Facebook followers at 1SaleADay.com. Offering this experience of a lifetime is as exciting for us as for our fans,” said Ben Federman, founder and CEO of 1SaleADay.com. “I hope Eli and I, as well as Tara and her boyfriend, will come back with some epic stories.”

Unlike many companies that use social media as an advertising and promotion channel, 1SaleADay.com, which offers one daily deal in six product categories at 75 to 95 percent off retail prices through its online site, takes a decidedly different approach. The company treats Facebook and similar social venues as places for conversation, for fun, and for allowing users to interact with one another.

“The notion that experiences create lasting relationships spurred the fishing trip marketing idea,” explained Eli Federman, Senior Vice President of 1SaleADay.com. “We often host contests, sweepstakes and rewards for our Facebook community because ‘exclusives’ are what they follow us for. But we’re looking to give our customers more than just exclusives; we want them to have a tangible experience, because experiences reinforce greater connections than physical things. After all, the purpose of social media is to build relationships.”

Founded in 2007, 1SaleADay.com has become the largest independently owned daily deal Web site. Each day, nearly a million people visit 1SaleADay.com to find deals on watches, electronics, jewelry, family items and more.

The “Shark Fishing with the Bosses” excursion will be provided by Tenacity Guide Service.
