This week Xploder rides a pale horse, bringing you an arsenal of items that will make others remember why they fear death in THQ’s glorious festival of destruction known as Darksiders 2. Xploder had a bit of a double whammy this week, providing saves for both the normal edition and the popular “death rides” pack.

The normal version taking you to the Dreadfort, armed with a variety of level set weapons (including a mighty possessed secondary weapon Xploder has lovingly dubbed “the Doomblades”), a fair chunk of money and all your skillpoints staggered through the harbinger tree.

For death rides however they’ve managed to take you clean past the forge world and loaded you with plenty of kit and cash to survive whatever will come your way, also granting you the ability to command the dead themselves.

Before time was born, a bright kingdom was created for the Angels, a dark realm for the Demons, and a world for Mankind. The Charred Council forged a truce between the warring legions of Heaven and Hell to stay the Final Battle until the End of Days, when the Kingdom of Man would be prepared to cast its lot in the eternal conflict.

Darksiders II is an action-adventure and action role-playing video game developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ. Players take control of Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Core gameplay is a hack and slash action-adventure game with role-playing elements. Maps are vast and each contains several overworld regions that are open world and can be explored freely on foot or by horse.

Each map also has several dungeons. There are main and side quests, and main quests often culminate in boss fights; there are also side-bosses that are not required to advance the main story, but provide various rewards.
