Brussels, Belgium — SoftKinetic, the leading provider of end-to-end gesture recognition solutions, has released the free and commercial version of iisu 3.5.1, the latest iteration of its award-winning 3D gesture recognition middleware. In addition to state-of-the-art full-body tracking, this new version of iisu includes several new features to enhance its close interaction capabilities, including robust hand and finger tracking, hand grabbers, hand gesture recognition (e.g. swiping) and hand poses.

iisu supports SoftKinetic’s DepthSense 325 (DS325), a pocket-sized camera that sees both in 3D (depth) and high-definition 2D (color), and can operate from as close as 15cm. The combination of iisu 3.5.1 and the DS325 provides high-accuracy finger and hand tracking for multiple applications such as augmented reality experiences, games, and user interface control.

“As a pioneer and leader in the field of 3D gesture recognition, SoftKinetic is excited to provide even more features to enable developers to create intuitive and engaging 3D experiences for the PC and laptop environments, in record time,” said Eric Krzeslo, Chief Innovation Officer and VP Business Development and Marketing at SoftKinetic. “Our solutions not only combine a highly optimized CPU footprint with incredible ease of use, but we now offer an even broader range of enhancements that developers have requested, in particular in the field of close interactions.”

SoftKinetic offers hardware, middleware, and applications that can be built once and deployed on most 3D cameras. SoftKinetic’s solutions are perfect for embedded platforms, as well as personal computers, consoles, set-top boxes, and smart TVs. Combined with world-class support, SoftKinetic is a leader in gesture recognition offerings.

iisu 3.5.1 Software Development Kit is available free for non-commercial use at www.softkinetic.com/en-us/solutions/iisusdk.aspx and the DS325 can be purchased online at www.softkinetic.com/en-us/store.aspx.
