Much hype is being generated all over Malaysia over the live concert in August of Grammy-Award winning Rock Band Metallica. Metallica who have been rocking the music world for the last 30 years, have decided to add Southeast Asia to their tour.
August 21, 2013, will mark their debut concert in Malaysia, at Stadium Merdeka. Metallica being one of the top Rock bands of the era, have an enormous number of fans in Malaysia, and organisers are expecting the event to be packed. People have already been seen to be booking flights from states such as Sarawak and Sabah, to make it for the first-ever Metallica concert in Malaysia.
In a statement on their official website, the band announced,’“We’ve said it before … with more than 30 years of travelling around the world behind us, there are very few places that we have yet to explore. So it’s rather thrilling for us to be back with yet another first, a stop in Kuala Lumpur.”
Gifting its fans with ecstatic music for the last 30 years, Metallica launched its first ever album ‘Kill ‘Em All’ in 1983, and ever since then there has been no looking back. This was followed by their second album in 1984 ‘Ride the Lightning’. In 1986 the band launched their first gold album ‘Master of Puppets’, which is also said to have some of their classics. The same year the band had to face the unfortunate death of their bassist Cliff Burton in a tour bus crash in Sweden.
The later years followed with more album launches, and in 1990 Metallica were awarded its first Grammy for Best Metal Performance at the 32nd annual Grammy Awards. Being one of the top Rock bands, they have never let their fans down.
Metallica, which includes frontman James Hetfield, 49, drummer Lars Ulrich, 49, guitarist Kirk Hammett, 50, and bassist Rob Trujillo, 48, is considered as one of the most successful rock bands in history, having shifted 110 million albums worldwide since it emerged.
