With his latest album, Michael Buble did something unusual; releasing a happy breakup song. That did not bother his fans however, which was obvious when his album reached #1 on the Billboard charts, as the sales continues to increase.
On his website, Buble states, “I think it’s the best album I’ve ever made…I know every artist on earth says that when their new album is coming out but really – this time it’s true. I swear. You can ask my mother.”
Last week he released a new video of a song off his album, “Close Your Eyes”. This is back to the expected lyrics and passion that is expected from Buble. Yet, it still is different in a way that it is not jazz music, with the piano not being the solid instrument throughout the song. Since July 6, there has been over 500,000 views, and is getting a great response. As for the next video to be released? Not sure, but the songs themselves are great to listen to and envision the story each song has to say. Buble pushed his usually amazing duets, and has Reese Witherspoon featured on his album taking on a timeless duet from Frank and Nancy Sinatra.
Along with his album release and videos, he is currently on a long-running tour. June 30 marked the start of his summer tour, To Be Loved Tour, in London. He will continue to reach a wide variety of cities, not hitting the United States until September. Thanks to social media and his website, you will be able to follow him throughout each show with great updates.
It is amazing to see how far Michael Buble has come, both with his own music, as well as the covers and adaptations of great music he has done of musical geniuses such as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. While he can pull off the flavor and feel of these untouchable musicians, he is able to twist the music enough that it is timeless, but part of the current time period too. While you would think that music about love and relationships would come to a point where there was not anything left to sing about, Buble continues to bring music to the world that instantly makes you want to be in love.
On his website, he continues to say, “I want to take you on a wonderful journey about love – all different kinds of love. The album swings big time – it rocks – it’s soulful – it’s happy –sometimes a little sad – it’s romantic – it’s yummy and it’s heartfelt.”
There is no better way to describe the album. Whether a Buble fan or not, there is bound to be at least one track on this album that will get you on your feet and singing along.
Toonari Post, as well as the rest of the world, cannot wait to see what else this talented musician does to step up his current reputation, both onstage, as well as a writer.
