While everyone’s clamoring for “Grand Theft Auto V” there are still a few gems to be found with interesting platformers such as “Puppeteer” and “Rayman Legends.” As well as great scares just in time for the Halloween season with “Outlast” and “Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs.”
“NHL 14” is the 23rd game in the NHL series and is developed by EA Canada. Some new features to the series are that the collision physics and fights have been improved. The game’s “Be a Pro” career mode has added an off-the-ice mode that will dictate the player’s overall legacy.
“FIFA 14” is the 21st game in the FIFA series and is developed by EA Canada. For the first time Montenegro national football team will be featured as well as 21 Brazilian clubs. A new 2v2 online seasons mode has been added where the player can play with a friend against two online players.
“Pro Evolution Soccer 2014” is the new game in the Pro Evolution Soccer series and is developed by PES Productions. The game will focus everything on the ball: how it moves, and how the player uses it. The game has also enhanced the physics of the ball, stature of the player, speed and height of the pass, which will all be taken into account to make the most realistic soccer games.
“Rayman Legends” is fifth main title in the Rayman series and the direct sequel to “Rayman Origins” and is developed by Ubisoft Montpellier. The game is four player cooperative like the previous game. The game features over 120 levels which includes 40 remastered levels from “Rayman Origins”. Some levels feature “Invaded” versions which have to be finished as quickly as possible.
“Puppeteer” a platformer developed by SCE Japan Studio. The player plays as a boy named Kutaro who has been turned into a puppet and had his head ripped off. However, because of this Kutaro has the ability to switch to various heads that have their own powers. The player can use Kuataro’s weapon (a magic pair of scissors) the player can cut through and move along anything made of fabric or paper.
“Outlast” is a survival horror game and is developed by Red Barrels Games. In the game you play as Miles Upshur, a freelance journalist, who visits Mount Massive Asylum to find out the secrets in it. The player is incapable of combat, except for a few points in the game. The player can climb, jump over obstacles, slide across narrow ledges which gives the player some advantage over the enemies. Another feature is the player’s camera, which they can use for night vision.
“Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs” is the indirect sequel to “Amnesia: The Dark Descent” and is developed by The Chinese Room. The player explore various environments using a lantern and finding notes and diary entries which will provide information on the protagonist, Oswald Mandus, who has memory loss. The AI is adjusted so that the player will not be able predict the enemies behavior.
