On the original British drama, “Being Human” supernatural occurrences don’t just happen in the script.  Sinead Keenan, an Irish actress that plays a werewolf in the BBC Three show, believes the set of the supernatural thriller may also be haunted.  The show, which also has an American adaptation, is about a group of supernatural housemates, including vampires and ghosts.

Sinead recently spoke of some weird incidents on the set.  ”Some strange things happened on the set of Being Human – Alexandra Roach, who played the zombie in episode three, was wearing red nail varnish, but when they took a photo of her and printed it off, two of her nails were black,” Sinead said.  “So there was little goings on like that, but I never had any first-hand experience of that.”

Sinead also reported that she was flattered that the British show has inspired an American counterpart.  “I’ve seen very little of it – just a trailer and a snippet on You Tube. At the end of the day, it’s a huge compliment that they wanted to make their own version, and it can only be good for us,” the 33-year old actress said. “Obviously it would have been good if they’d said, ‘We’ll buy the original and show it in America’, and the British version has been showing in the States on BBC America, which is great. But I’m sure fans of the American version of The Office have gone, ‘Hmm, I wonder what the British version is like’ and bought the box set, so maybe that will happen with Being Human too. And imitation is the highest form of flattery.”

The third series of Being Human is available on BBC DVD from March 28.

Actor Ben Stiller admits that he is “aware of ghosts” and has lived in haunted places before. He reported feeling uncomfortable in his new home.  Stiller recently moved from the west coast to New York City to star in the Broadway play, “The House of Blue Leaves.”

Stiller told David Letterman on CBS’ The Late Show that he doesn’t like living in a town outside the city limits. He currently is staying in a suburb of the city right now.   ”I have a little thing with quietness and spirits. I’m aware of ghosts,” he told Letterman. “I sort of believe in ghosts, and my wife doesn’t; she’s afraid of axe murders.”

The Zoolander and Tropic Thunder star admitted that he has previously lived in two haunted houses.  “We rented a house in Los Angeles a few years ago, that something had gone on in, because the caretaker of the house was a little bit loopy,” he said.

“She had called to check on us a few days in and she said, ‘How’s it going? Have you had any experiences?’ And I said ‘No’, and she goes ‘Well… when I stayed there every morning I woke up at 4:43am for three weeks straight. And I got buzzed on the intercom a few times and I heard a few doors slam. Then one morning at about 4:48am in the morning I heard a party going on downstairs, a full on party with Charleston music playing and people mingling’.”

Stiller stated that he has not witnessed any paranormal activity himself.  He did admit that his parents, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, once rented a home in Nantucket that was haunted by a young baby named Stanley Benjamin.

A real-life vampire in Arizona was sentenced earlier this month to 3 years probation after he stabbed his roommate.  Aaron Homer, a 24-year old, pled guilty to aggravated assault in a Maricopa County court.

Homer and his roommates, 25-year-old Robert Maley and Amanda Williamson, 21, lived in an apartment in Chandler, Arizona.  In the police report, Maley stated that the pair was “into vampire stuff and paganism.”

Maley told the police that he allowed Homer to suck his blood at one point during their bizarre relationship.  According to the Arizona Republic, Maley allowed Homer to suck his blood for 2-3 minutes in the past because Homer threatened his ex-girlfriend.  “He had allowed them to suck his blood one time, but did not want them to suck his blood anymore and when he told (Homer) that, (Homer) became very angry and stabbed him,” the police report says.

Maley was stabbed in the left arm.  With his wound bleeding, Maley left the apartment because of an outstanding warrant.  Firefighters treating someone next door heard a loud bang.

“They see a man running with blood coming out of his arm,” said Chandler Police Det. Dave Ramer.

When police arrived, Williamson and Homer were in the apartment, which was covered in blood. There was also “a trail of blood leaving the apartment,” the police report says.

The pair remaining in the apartment gave conflicting stories.  Williamson stated she stabbed Maley in self-defense because he attacked her.  Homer gave various versions of the events, but police stated they did not make sense.  The knife was found between bedroom mattresses.  Maley was then tracked down a few blocks away, blood still gushing from his arm.

Maley told police what happened.  After police informed Homer what Maley had reported, Homer “showed police how angry he was and said he stabbed Maley because he was making fun of (their) religion.” Homer said he stabbed him and called him a profane name.

Homer was charged with aggravated assault and Williamson was arrested on charges of false reporting.  Maley was also arrested for his probation violation.  He was treated for his stab wound, which required several stitches.  “I’ve never heard of a case like this in Chandler,” Ramer said.

The remaining American Idol contestants became freaked out by their lodging after they believed ghosts invaded the Beverly Hills mansion.  The 11 finalists from the hit Fox series moved out of the mansion permanently last week after various supernatural experiences that sent them over the edge.

According to TMZ, the contestants complained about bizarre flicking lights inside the house.  There was also a strange and sudden spider infestation.  Several contestants claim to have witnessed a bed sheet float down an empty hallway.  The final straw was when torrential rains in the area were responsible for severe leaking in the mansion.

After that, according to sources, the contestants freaked out and demanded to be moved to a new location.  Producers obliged and the group is now at an undisclosed location, likely an area hotel.   Insiders claim that the only scary thing about the $100,000 a month mansion was the girls had to share one bathroom.  And that the spider problem and leaky roof were the real reasons the kids wanted out.  However, others suggest that the producers acted quickly to move the kids and perhaps knew more about the haunting than they were letting on.  Beverly Hills is an area rich with spiritual history.

After the story broke, Idol producers have attempted to make light of the situation and turn the whole story into a silly segment to promote the show.

This isn’t the first Idol haunting either.  Contestants during season 8 had claimed that their Bel Air mansion was haunted as well. In an interview with People magazine in 2009, contestants said their house was being haunted by a woman named Phyllis who lived in finalist Allison Iraheta’s room.

Contestant Lil Rounds from season 8 said Iraheta reported hearing growls. Some contestants saw a “white shadow walking across the room.”   They believed that Phyllis wasn’t violent and just seemed to be “a friendly troublemaker.”
