The Toonari Post - News, Powered by the People!

Despite our greatest effort, the ultimate recipe for a perfect healthy body does not exist. All people are different and we have to realize that we cannot expect to all fit model sizes. Due to our various body types, this would simply be impossible. Additionally, if you are unhappy about your weight, it is not worth starving yourself either. For the healthy body, we need to eat right and it means learning how to combine your foods – not to stay away from it. This also means realizing that some types of diets are healthy for some but not for others. Lots of vegetables can be great for one person – but bad for the next and the same goes for proteins. You have to figure out how your metabolism works before you can really know what type of diet suits your system.

The nutritionist Maria Ramos gives us these ten advices for eating better:

Don´t be a shopaholic at the supermarket: Keeping a varied diet is not the same as buying one of everything. Variety comes from choosing the healthier options and making sure that you do not end up eating the same stuff every day. You don’t have to turn your back on foods. You can still eat healthy if you simply eat appropriate portions and eat frequently.

You have to eat at least five pieces of fruit or vegetables per day: Fresh or boiled, they will provide you with the vitamins, minerals and fibers you will need every day.

Try to eat cereals every day: Restricting your carbon hydrate intake is not healthy for your body as it is the fuel you work on. Bread, rice and pasta give us all the energy we need.

Legumes in the dish: chickpeas, lentils and so on have an extraordinary positive effect on our internal system. We should eat them several times a week.

You have to drink 1.5 liter of water per day: We are made of 60% water and to keep this balance, you need a daily intake of liquids. Fresh juices, teas, or just water are the best options while it should be said that soda and other fizzy drinks do not count.

You have to choose the fats properly: Animal fats are good but rich in saturated fatty acids and cholesterol, so you should eat them in moderations. The best fats come from olive oil, linos, fish, nuts and dried fruits.

Learn how to cook properly: When we roast or fry the food it has a tendency to break down the nutrients in the food. It is often better to cook at low temperatures and spare the oil. Using and oven or a steamer is also very good alternatives. This will also keep the flavor of our food.

Avoid fast foods: This type of diet usually has a lot of additives to conserve the food and help it to be ready in a few seconds. You have to think that you can prepare a better meal in the same time.

Eat fish: Three times per week would be ideal. However, watch out for salmon, tuna and sword fish because these types sometimes contain toxic agents so eat in moderations.

Keep an eye on your weight: The appropriate weight is the result of eating healthy and doing exercise. Rapid weight loss can be dangerous.

However, some people eventually realize as the years pass, that things happens for a reason. Distance, time and reflection are some of the factors that play an important part of coming to terms with events of the past. Have you ever experienced a difficult break-up? Lost someone you thought would be a part of your life forever? After episodes like this, it is natural for a person to feel immediately scorn and resentful but what they will realize in time is that those experiences often bring along positive side-effects. Perhaps you met a better person afterwards? Perhaps because of the situation you moved to another place and found your dream job? There is no predictable pattern of ‘fate’ but we know that many people have won after losing.

According to the Spanish psychologist Begoña Odriozola, the following advice can help you overcome the problem and move on:

You have to learn from your mistakes and find the positive sides afterwards.

You have to learn how to distinguish between the events that depend on you and the ones that you are unable to control. Your focus needs to be on the situations you can change.

You will benefit from a positive attitude and the belief that things will get better with time.

Do not become seized by frustration.

Set goals and figure out what you need to do to achieve them.

By feeding your confidence, you provide yourself with the strength to carry on despite the problems you may have to overcome. We have to believe that everything has a purpose.

Believe in yourself. We all have the solution inside of us; you have to know yourself enough to figure out how.

You have to realize that the difficulties you overcome shows how strong and brave you can be. The experience will also prepare you for similar obstacles in the future. You have to constantly learn from your battles.

You cannot expect that your life will always happen the way you want it to. Expecting this will only lead to frustration.

You have to look for the beauty in the most complicated situations.

You should always enjoy the triumphant feeling that follows when you have successfully solved or overcome a problem.

You must always ask yourself – what did I learn from that situation? What did this problem mean to me? And then move on.

The Toonari Post - News, Powered by the People!

With the arrival of spring comes a new style guide from Spain to inspire your wardrobe for the season. The style is greatly inspired by the 70’s but will surely get you pumped up for 2011. These are the ten commandments for this spring:

Go for denim: It is going to be one of the most important fabrics this season and one which you definitely should add to your closet. Denim is a must-have but it does not have to be brand new – if you got something lying in the pile, dust if off and flaunt it.

If you dare go all the way, try for the complete look – shirt, skirt and boots to match. On the other hand, if you prefer the more subtle and classic look you can combine your denim with cream colors.

Get yourself a pleated skirt: This will be a hit for the season so make sure your wardrobe has one ready. Stylists are suggesting to tone down the rest of your outfit to focus the attention on the skirt – a tight-fitting t-shirt would be perfect.

If you plan to wear the skirt at night, bet for the long model that touches your feet – if you feel on the risque side, a knee-high model can be both daring and pretty. Keep in mind that not all girls can wear pleated, but if you are one of the lucky, these skirts are a fun way to spice up your style. And the shoes? Comfortable ballet flats will do the trick.

Roll it up: This year’s Spanish fashion will put a lot of emphasis on the straight and tight look but with the added detail of rolled-up hems. It is meant to be the new style for casual wear so expect to see it on the streets and in cafes – not at the office.

Jackets, shirt or cardigans are equally fitting for the ‘roll-up’ – get those sleeves up to your elbows and you will look great this spring.

Whip out the blazer: Stylists love this piece of garment cause a blazer tends to match with everything. Designer suggestions for this season is an oversized model in light, cream colors. It will look chic and fresh with a short dress or a pair of high waisted pants.

White on white on white: Dolce & Gabbana have stated that this season will be overflown with lacy dresses, crochets and embroiders, all in white. This will be perfect for beachwear but do not be afraid to mix it up for an urban style – try an embroidered blouse with Bermuda shorts for a change.

Bring back the 70´s: For this year, designers have found inspiration for new trends in the 70’s and the game is on for new interpretations of that decade. It will be a great opportunity for fashion-lovers to come up with their own ideas – would you dare to put your hair up in a stylish bun or wear a neckline? How about showing up at work in a long gauze dress? Be bold and you will own the room.

Try the ‘picnic’ look: Spring inspired bright and colorful fabrics and combinations – you should draw inspiration from the sun, the sky and the blooming nature. ‘Picnic’ is fresh and outdoorsy as well as uplifting and fun. Show your skin in short and tops of printed fabrics and in bold colors. Now is the time to get some color.

Speaking of which, embrace the palette: You should not shy away from colors this season – white is crisp and classic but make sure your wardrobe gets its essential splash of rainbow. The Spanish stylish recommend mixing and experimenting with different colors and taking the leap into the more flamboyant colors should not be off the table. If you prefer not to mix, go for something exiting – like an electric blue dress.

Make the unusual usual: When was the last time you wore that clean-cut tuxedo? Whatever happened to the stylish uniform jacket? How about that slim-wasted jumpsuit? If you have a special occasion this season, why not make it a little more interesting with an outfit that is bound to raise eyebrows. If you got the body and the courage, try something a little unusual and you will be sure to pack in compliment. If you need something a little less formal, try combining your unique garment with something more subtle – like you brocade shorts with a comfy blazer.

Reach for the sky: Prada wants us to wear ten cm, striped, plato shoes this spring – not for the faint hearted!

If you prefer something more comfortable (but still stylish), Chloé has the perfect suggestion – go for ballet pumps; they are very versatile when it comes to matching and comes in many varieties. Great fashion does not always have to be hard.
