The Toonari Post - News, Powered by the People!

San Francisco, U.S.A.– Back-to-school time is just about here. The rush is on to get those last-minute school supplies, pack up the car, and shove off to each student’s college or university. College textbooks may be an afterthought until students arrive on campus and start unpacking their belongings and preparing for classes to start. According to the research, conducted by the 20 Million Minds Foundation, textbooks have increased in cost by four times the national rate of inflation over the past four years, with the average annual cost of textbooks coming in at $1,260 per student.

With this exorbitant cost in mind, the deals and money-saving website Coupon Snapshot is proud to offer numerous deals and discounts on college textbooks and alternatives for students this year. Thankfully, students are not forced into making their textbook purchases at the university bookstore.

“College textbooks seem to be one of the most costly expenses of going to school these days,” says Coupon Snapshot’s marketing director. “It is hard to believe how the costs keep climbing for school books each year, but they still do. We are glad to do anything we can to help students and parents defray the cost of textbooks by providing a variety of coupon codes and special sales for textbooks, e-textbooks, and related services.”

Coupon Snapshot’s dedicated deal-finding team gathered up as many textbook deals as they could find in order to help students and parents escape some of the high costs of going to college. Some of the top companies offering deals on school books include Textbooks.com, AbeBooks, Amazon, Chegg, and CourseSmart, to name a few.

The following are some of the top deals on textbooks, e-textbooks, and related services:

AbeBooks – 50– 90% off list price

Buy.com – Back to School Store: Up to 86% off

Chegg – Up to 80% off textbooks

CourseSmart –Free Trial on e-textbooks, up to 60% off one e-textbook reading, and more

Textbooks.com — 10% bonus buyback, Free shipping on orders over $25, and Save up to 90% every day on the biggest selection of used and new textbooks

Many students buy used textbooks from the school bookstore or even on Amazon.com. Saving money by purchasing textbooks online can truly help the overall cost of each college semester while also making those funds available for other things such as participation in school athletics, activities, and maybe even a few tanks of gas so that students can come home to visit once in a while.

In addition to textbook deals at Coupon Snapshot, parents and students should also check out the website’s Back-to-School Deals page. Deals are available on back-to-school clothing, shoes, accessories, school supplies, and so much more.

“The start of a new school year is an exciting time for parents and students alike,” says Coupon Snapshot’s CEO. “We know college isn’t cheap, and it is a big lifestyle change – and sometimes a big move – for many young men and women. It is our great pleasure to bring together these wonderful deals and discounts on college textbooks, e-textbooks, and all kinds of back-to-school items to help alleviate the financial burden many families feel when sending kids off to college.”

Los Angeles, U.S.A. — The new and expanded All American Back to School Guide shows you how to buy American-made school supplies, clothing, shoes, backpacks, lunch boxes and computers. It includes everything that you need for a dorm room from sheets and towels, to pillows, rugs and curtains.

The Foundation publishes the All American Back to School Guide Made annually. This year’s book is much larger than last year, 108 pages crammed with hundreds of school supplies, pens, paper, markers, jeans, T-shirts and shoes, and many ways to buy them.

The book is 6 x 9 inches, and comes in paperback or in electronic versions. The paperback costs $9.95 and is available at bookstores, Amazon.com and via the Foundation’s website, www.madeusafdn.org. The electronic book sells for $2.99 at Amazon and on the Foundation’s website. Electronic editions are available for the Nook and iPad as well.

The Made in the USA Foundation was formed in 1989. The Foundation has drafted and supported the Country of Origin Labeling Act (COOL), the American Automobile Labeling Act and many other country-of-origin laws. Now the Foundation is actively promoting American-made products with buying guides and at trade shows. Joel D. Joseph, Chairman of the Foundation, said, “Companies are coming back to the United States. Consumers are demanding American-made products, and U.S. companies are more competitive than ever in making high-quality consumer goods.

The Toonari Post - News, Powered by the People!

Orlando, U.S.A. – InCharge Debt Solutions (“InCharge”), a nonprofit credit counseling agency, has developed seven important tips for parents to follow so that preparing their kids for school can be a manageable and less stressful process For many Americans struggling with debt problems, the end of summer is an anxious time because school supplies, sports gear, updated clothing and other necessities can be expensive, but there are things every parent can do.

“It is important to take an objective look at what your children need for school and what you can afford,” says Etta Money, InCharge’s President. “We all want to do everything we can for our kids, but for those dealing with limited financial resources or debt problems, the task can be overwhelming. That’s why we developed these steps for parents so they can prepare their young ones for school while still being able to afford their regular household expenses.”

Here are seven things every parent of school-age kids should do:

Prepare a written budget – just as you would prepare a guide to your overall expenses, a detailed written plan to follow as you prepare your kids for school is vital.

Do an inventory – take stock of what supplies you have on hand, what you and the kids can make yourselves, and what clothing can be used again for the new school year.

Develop a shopping list – eliminate what you already have from your list and write down everything you need to buy to get your student(s) ready for school to open.

Look for deals – with a month or more to go, you have plenty of time to shop online for deals, look for coupons, and search the local papers for sales.

Plug in the numbers – armed with the best deals you can make, take the numbers you have discovered for the items you need and work them into your household budget.

Cut where needed – if the numbers don’t work, you may need to spread out purchases, or make some cuts, either in the school budget or your household expenses.

Make your purchases – it’s time to buy, but don’t forget to distinguish between “needs” and “wants,” you don’t want to add to your debt.
