The Toonari Post - News, Powered by the People!

Lancaster, England, — Over 80% of people in the UK access the online platform at least once a week but British businesses are not keeping up with technology, according to a recent study.

Findings released by European Commission’s Digital Agenda reveal that the majority of Britons are using the World Wide Web as a regular occurrence in their weekly lives but companies are not taking advantage of the digital revolution.

The study found that only 14% of small businesses sold their products online over the last year. This is a long way off the anticipated target set by the Commission of 33% by the year 2015. The statistics come at a time when 71% of British people are currently shopping online.

Neelie Kroes, the Commission Vice President, said Government and industries are not keeping up with Europeans’ hunger for digital choices and by doing so “we are shooting ourselves in the foot by under-investing.”

Further findings show that broadband penetration is slowing down although the total number of people with access to high-speed internet grew by 0.1% between January 2011 and January 2012. As evident of the research, the internet should be liberating small businesses and boosting their presence to vast audiences’ online improving sales. Instead, many are not taking advantage of the fruitful platform.

With so many consumers around the world using the internet, let NuBlue help take your business to the next level this year. As an expert web hosting firm, they can support your company’s website to ensure everything remains online and intact so consumers can purchase/enquire about your services or products quickly and proficiently.
