The French band M83 announced the release of their new album named: Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming.

This new album is coming with a lot of anticipation and excitement by being a follow up of their previous album Saturdays=Youth which was released on 2008.

On October 18^th the album will be released and available on stores. In an interview by Pitchfork, the lead singer, Anthony Gonzalez commented about his new work saying:  “For now, the direction of the album is very, very, very epic. Very orchestrated. I feel like it’s a mix of all my albums, actually.”

The album contains two discs sets, with eleven tracks per disc.

The first track of the Album is called Midnight City and it is already available in many platforms on Internet. The featured song provides us a small insight of the amazing blend of sounds, and musical combinations that the new album contains.

The band is already known for their use of reverb effects and the cool combinations among the soft voices over the loud instrumentals.

The Rolling Stones magazine exposed that: “ The record, which was produced by Beck and Nine Inch Nails bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen, will also feature vocals by Gonzalez’s regular collaborator Morgan Kibby and guest singer Zola Jesus, plus guitar by former Medicine member Brad Laner.

M83 also announced their Fall North American Tour starting this October, here are the upcoming dates and cities:

Sometimes a song presents on your life in an spontaneous way. Whether you were watching a movie, a show , or you were doing some sport at the gym. In any case what I want to tell you is that there are few songs that stay in our mind. Not only because maybe they came at the right moment, but because they create an atmosphere.

A new song always gives you a feeling of freshness. You can hear the song again and again without getting tired of it and this feeling it’s just amazing. It is the best feeling when you have discover a new song. Therefore I wanted to share an amazing artist that I discovered when I was watching a series named MisFits, and I heard the song Until We Bleed.

The song captured the perfect moment of the scenes, and it just took me once to hear it and it stayed in my mind the rest of the day. I kept mumbling the rhythm that stayed with me even if I didn’t got a clue of what the lyrics where. But that is a good song my fellows! It is not only the melody, but also the rhythm, the beats that make you feel the music inside you.

Well enough of my explanations, I wanted to share something with you and as I told you I discovered this artist. Her name is Lykke Li, she is 25 years old and she comes originally form Sweden.

I have never seen or her about her, but based on my research we can read that she is becoming pretty much an icon in the U.K already. But well for all of you, which have or haven’t discovered her I hope you enjoy this article.

She is a writer and composer. When you hear her music, you will hear a blend of different instruments such as trumpets, saxophones, violins, cellos, synthesizers, which make a perfect combination to integrate electronic, pop, and indie rock music. Her first album, named Youth Novels was released in 2008, when she was just 19 years old. But this year with the release of her second album, Wounded Rhymes her style and music have exploded like a lightning thunder. The album was released in Sweden on March 2011.

Lykee Li shared this words with Pitchfork Media, talking about her song Get Some:

“Get Some” is] just a snapshot, but the album is darker, moodier, and the lyrics are heavier. There’s less atmosphere, more directness. I was 19 when I recorded my first album, and I’ve been exposed to many things during these last few years; all the baby fat is gone. I dove into the craziness and did things that maybe I would think twice about when I get older. And I’m a really restless person; I’m tired of the way I sounded or looked yesterday.

So it’s hard to hang onto this image of me as this young Swedish female in this world. People comment on how you look, it’s so unnecessary. I just wanted people to listen to what I have to say instead of focusing on anything else. And, of course, there are a lot of things I’m angry about in the world”.

She is everything but common, you can see her on stage soon, she will be performing at the Latitude Festival 2011 in the U.K between the 14 and 17 of July 2011 at Henham Park in Suffolk, England.

Her style, fashion, voice and attitude make Lykee Li and interesting musician. She exposes a sweet but also a tough personality.

“Have you ever heard of [insert band name here]?”  You can probably answer “yes” to this question eight times out of ten, whether it was on the radio, on the internet or something of that sort, and if you haven’t heard it, you have probably heard something that sounds just like it, i.e. the generic pop song.

So when I was faced with this question a few weeks ago, I was hesitant about the conversation that would take place after my answer. Long story short, after initially not wanting to listen to it, AWOLNATION some way found its way from the speakers to my ears that night.

AWOLNATION is unlike anything that’s happening right now. You can say it sounds like MGMT just to realize, further on in the same song, that it doesn’t remind of you MGMT at all. As a friend of mine put it, lead singer Aaron Bruno sounds like “Little Richard mixed with the guy from Queen.”

Aaron Bruno. This name may sound familiar to you. AWOLNATION is his latest project (third time’s the charm?),  and he has been the lead singer of both Home Town Hero and Under the Influence of Giants. AWOLNATION is his solo project.

In the single year that AWOLNATION has been an “official” band, it has produced not only an EP but also a full-length album. The 2010 EP, Back to Earth, features five songs, three of which were later featured on the album. Back to Earth was only really a preview of what was to come less than a year later.

In March 2011, Megalithic Symphony dropped. This album is the perfect mix of rock and electronic beats partnered with themes you can apply to your own life or gain an understanding of Bruno himself.

The song that sums this up the most is “Jump on My Shoulders.” It has an excellent backing that you can’t help just dance along to. The verses of this song have a pretty basic sound behind them, but the chorus definitely is built up… to get people excited!

“I say we rob from the rich and blow down the door / On to the next to dance with the poor / Jump on my shoulders / You can jump on my shoulders,” Bruno sings along with some background singers singing “La-La-La,” creating probably one of the best sounding choruses right now.  To put it simply, this song pumps people up, and even your grandma would dance to it.

If electronic beats isn’t necessarily your thing, AWOLNATION still has your back. The song “Burn it Down” still has the electronic components to it, but drums as well as guitar are a much more prominent featured. That being said, this song will still get your feet moving. It’s a fast-paced, upbeat song about people who feel the same way coming together (to dance), and asks questions that listeners can ponder deeply. And if you are into heavier beats, check out the “Burn it Down” remix on the EP. It will blow your mind.
