The Toonari Post - News, Powered by the People!

Cologne, Germany — The Electronic Sports League (ESL), Europe’s leading competitive gaming league, has been supporting their communities in Europe, America and Asia successfully through local partnerships for many years now.

Local partners are able to help the players better, faster and in the local language with all needs. To create a powerful community of gamers for Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia the Electronic Sports League will cooperate with IT Baltics. The new platform is available under www.esl.eu/baltics.

The new ESL partner IT Baltics already has years of experience in the organization of big events, like the IT Baltics Expo, the Baltic States biggest IT-Show. The aim is to merge the three countries individual gaming communities to a single Baltic one. The partnership provides for having an own ESL Pro Series, Go4-Cup Series and ESL Amateur Series.

Furthermore, as an official partner, ESL Baltics will hold Intel Extreme Masters and ESL Major Series qualifiers every season, further adding to the repertoire of locations. Players and fans of gaming will be pleased to know that the major titles such as “League of Legends,” “StarCraft II,” “Counter-Strike” and many more will be available for playing.

“eSports is a global phenomenon and attracts more people worldwide every day. For us, as a league operator, it’s important to connect with players locally. The Eastern European market is a strongly growing sector. The cooperation in the Baltic States secures us a great spot to grow even faster in this market,” says Sebastian Weishaar, Vice President International Business at Turtle Entertainment.

“The finals of the Intel Extreme Masters at CeBIT 2012 impressed us greatly: Fans from all over the world did celebrate with their heroes on stage,” says Marius Markevicius, CEO at IT Baltics. “All the different gaming communities in the Baltic States are mostly separated from each other. With the establishment of ESL Baltic we are connecting all the gamers more closely to one big eSports-Community.”

Further information about IT Baltics can be found at: www.itbaltics.com.
Electronic Sports League
The Electronic Sports League (ESL) is the largest and most important league for gamers in Europe consisting of more than four million registered members and more than 800,000 registered teams. ESL is operated by the company Turtle Entertainment since 2000 and offers more than 3,500 professional leagues and amateur ladders from a variety of games. Nearly 400.000 matches per month are being played worldwide using the ESL technology. The ESL website currently reaches above 2.5 million unique visitors a month and about 35,000 new players register every month.
