Christian Dior needs a prestigious creative director, and, according to Vogue UK, there might be a special interest in Alexander Wang. A source close to LVMH, the parent company of Christian Dior and many other luxury brands, claims that top executives may be gravitating towards the idea of hiring the young designer from New York.

Marc Jacobs, Haider Ackermann and Riccardo Tisci have been considered in the past few days, and have not been officially turned down but insiders have supposedly confirmed to Vogue UK that:

Ackermann is said to be ‘way too edgy’ for Dior; Jacobs wanted the job a lot, but LVMH wants him to stick with Vuitton; and Tisci simply refused, saying that he was feeling more than comfortable with the job at Givenchy.

In addition to those revealing words, they also specify on their online edition that Alexander Wang might not be the perfect replacement for a visionary artist like Galliano, the former creative director at Christian Dior. Alexander Wang’s style veers more to street-wear than theatrical and couture-esque opulence, which explains why experts are still skeptical about the New Yorker.

Whether Wang is to become the new face behind Dior or stay Wang, the fact that a company like LVMH has set their eyes on the young creator means there could be a succulent invite to join any of the hundreds of projects they own. Fellow New Yorker Marc Jacobs landed his current position that same way, and now runs the Vuitton empire.

The question is: is there anyone quite like John Galliano out there? Fashionistas all over the world compared Galliano’s firing to Alexander McQueen’s suicide. Can anyone else awe the whole world with a dress and take the concept of high fashion to the level of art?

On September 9th the world woke up to headlines that seemed to conclude a phase in John Galliano’s troubled life. The day before, the British designer was found guilty of making anti-Semitic comments and sentenced to pay a $8166 fine. According to his spokesperson he was relieved that the infamous events could be now put behind.

Earlier this year John Galliano was fired from Christian Dior, the fashion house where he served as creative director for more than 10 years. After some shocking accusations that claimed the designer confronted a couple at a Paris café using anti-Semitic remarks, a video was made public and Galliano’s public image started a downward spiral.

The blurry footage, recorded with a phone, featured the designer, who was undoubtedly intoxicated, proffering some inglorious words and even confessing his love for Adolf Hitler. An outrageous outburst that not only made Galliano lose his exclusive job but also embarrassed the troubled soul underneath the flamboyant costumes.

It is very uncertain what future holds for both Christian Dior and its former genius John Galliano whose last gig, a stellar wedding dress for long-time friend Kate Moss, could be dubbed as his re-introduction to the social circle he always belonged to. Meanwhile rumors and insider’s testimonies are likely to keep spilling on the media.

One of the most influential magazine editors, Vogue Italy’s  Franca Sozzani suggested Galliano should be re-hired for the job,

‘Look, I understand their point of view. I understand they couldn’t just say, ‘Bad boy! We forgive you! Come back!’ But it’s really a pity. And I will never believe he believed what he said. I think he was drunk and alone in a bar. When people go crazy, they go crazy. It’s a human case; it’s not political or religious. He didn’t kill anyone!

Pete Doherty planned to dedicate his sets at Reading And Leeds Festivals to his former co-star Amy Winehouse last 26 August to 28 August.

Reports on tabloids and Daily Star suggested that Doherty would make his own tribute to the singer. Sources said the two stars were really close friends. Doherty was willing to dedicate his festival gigs to her memory because he loved her music. The star admits the news had beaten him really hard. He still can believe they have lost such a great artist and friend.

“I was in bed when I heard the news of her death. Someone had to wake me up to tell me. I couldn’t take it in and still can’t. Coming to terms with what has happened is almost impossible. It’s hard to think she’s not with us anymore,” Doherty said.

Pete Doherty covered Amy Winehouses’ “Tears Dry on Their Own” at the Leeds festival.  He made his Leeds Festival debut with The Libertines back in 2002. After missing the band’s 2003 and 2004 appearances there, he was temporarily suspended from the group. He played twice in the Festival with Babyshambles before last year’s reunion.

The show was on unreleased material. Doherty played “Stranger In My Own Skin”, his own solo and Babyshambles set lists before, even it has never been officially released. He ended his show with the song “Fuck Forever.”

There were many opinions about Peter Doherty’s performance. A fan in the festival’s crowd said“It was good, obviously it would have been great if The Libertines could have come back but it’s always good to see Pete onstage playing the Libs songs, they do sound good acoustically. The Amy tribute was a lovely touch too”.

As well as Amy Winehouse, Pete Doherty can’t escape from his drug’s past. He was sentenced to six months in jail after pleading guilty to cocaine possession.

At Snaresbrook Crown Court, in his hometown London, Judge David Radford made his sentence.

“From what I have heard and what I have read there is no doubt that you are a talented and successful musician. However, you have an appalling record of committed offences of the kind for which you fall to be sentenced today,” Radford said

This was the third time Pete Doherty has been jailed. Last 2003, he went to prison for burgling his Libertines band mate Carl Barat’s flat. In 2008 he was jailed for breaching probation rules. Last may, Pete Doherty got released from jail.

“On this bright sunny morning Peter was released from prison and thanks everyone for their valued support while inside,” stated a message on the website Albion Rooms after Pete Doherty’s release.

Doherty’s manager, Adrian Hunter also gave thanks online to the singer’s fans for the support they had given.

“Peter has been released as was reported there hours ago. Long day folks but a happy one. Many good things done. All’s good and peace and quiet shall now ensue. A bit of ‘bedding in’ and reflection is on the cards and so much the better,” she said.

Unfortunately he might face five more years in prison after being caught breaking into a record shop in Germany and attempting to steal a guitar.

After many rumors, world-known model Kate Moss got married on Friday 1^st of June with the musician Jamie Hince, her boyfriend of more than one year.

According to the Daily Mail newspaper, the original date of the wedding was June 2, but they decided to move it back one day because their wedding coincided with the wedding of Prince Albert of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock.

The religious ceremony took place in Saint Peter Church, a simple 12^th century chapel situated in Southrop, Gloucestershire – a small town in England. The bride, who arrived at four o’clock in a Rolls Royce and was accompanied by her father Peter and her daughter Lila Gracey, wore a beautiful white wedding dress designed by John Galliano, who is a close friend of Moss. The 37-years-old model wanted to encourage Galliano with this gesture, because it just so happens that Galliano had to appear before judges accused of antisemitism on the same day as the top model’s weeding.

Kate decided to wear her hair down and messy with a short and embroidered bridal veil. Meanwhile, the groom was faithful to his retro style and had chosen a light blue suit with a striped shirt, a silk neckerchief instead of a tie and a double-breasted jacket; his entire outfir was designed by Stefano Pilati from Yves Sant Laurent.

Bridesmaids were Charlotte Moss, the sister of Kate Moss; Ella Richards, the daughter of the rockstar Keith Richards and Jess Hallet, Moss’ agent. There were more than 400 wedding guests and among the coveted guest list you could find famous celebrities like Naomi Campbell, who was also in the Monaco Prince Albert wedding the previous day, Vivienne Westwood, sir Philip Green, Tracey Emin, Stella and May McCartney and Jude Law.

Despite the religious ceremony being a quite simple and traditional affair, the wedding reception was an extravagant display of luxury, eccentricity and glamour (the estimated cost of the wedding is put at over £1 million). The party was in the garden of the model’s mansion where they had set up several marquees in order to cover all the guest. A group of drag queens helped guests find the toilets and an army of muscular men, who wore fake tattoos with the names of the newlyweds, walked around the marquees. Among this welcome committee were also trapeze artists and a lot of rock and roll.

The wedding reception continued until June 3. After three days of nonstop party, the model and his new husband left the wedding by helicopter and went to the airport to embark on their romantic honeymoon.
