Los Angeles, U.S.A. — After more than 2.4 million votes were cast internationally, ‘Hunger Games’ humble yet fierce Jennifer Lawrence took the number one position on AskMen’s “Top 99 Most Desirable Women” list. In the poll, which surveyed AskMen readers, Lawrence shot up ahead of her Hollywood peers, including Kristen Stewart (No. 7), Jessica Biel (No. 24), Charlize Theron (No.97) and reality TV star Kim Kardashian, who dropped from No. 8 on last year’s list to No. 98 this year.

The 12th edition of the Top 99 Most Desirable Women poll, calls on AskMen readers to elect women who most closely match their ideals. These men were tasked with voting on more than just sex appeal, taking into account character, intelligence, talent, sense of humor, professional success, achievements in 2012 and potential for 2013.

Lawrence’s victory follows an incredible 2012 for the 22-year-old starlet, whose breakout performances in ‘Hunger Games’ and ‘Silver Lining Playbook’ turned the heads of men worldwide and pinned her as the next big thing. Lawrence is followed by ‘TED’ actress Mila Kunis, who has consistently appeared on AskMen’s Top 99 since 2008 a Sports Illustrated turned Vogue model Kate Upton stayed high up on the list, landing at No. 3, dropping only one spot from the 11th edition of the list.

With more than 40% of the women on the list appearing for the first time, it’s fair to say there is a new breed of strong and independent women taking over. Take Lawrence’s No. 1 ranking after her fearless roles, or Claire Danes, who earned an Emmy this year for her standout performance on Homeland, at No. 20. Anne Hathaway shaved her head for her dramatic role in ‘Les Miserables’ and came in at No. 47. Other powerful women on the list include Marissa Mayer, President and CEO of Yahoo, at No. 59, First Lady Michelle Obama at No. 33 and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova of Russian activist-punk group Pussy Riotat No. 85.

The “Top 99 Most Desirable Women of 2013″ features a new generation of leading women:

• “Girls” actresses Jemima Kirke (No. 51) and Allison Williams (No. 42), “Mad Men” actress Jessica Pare at No. 9, Beyonce’s sister, singer Solange Knowles, at No. 50, Australian Youth Olympian Michelle Jenneke at No. 10 and newlywed U.S. soccer team goalie Hope Solo at No. 30.

For a third year in a row, TV actresses dominated the list, with 24 TV stars claiming spots. “Modern Family’s” Sofia Vergara topped last year’s list, and she continued to hold strong at No. 12 this year. Has dating bad boy Kanye West hurt Kim Kardashian ’s image? The reality tv star dropped to No. 98 on this year’s list. Perhaps not, as “bad girl” Kristen Stewart ’s public infidelity had no impact on her desirability, which resulted in a climb from No. 27 last year to No. 7 this year. Likewise, Scarlett Johansson fell from No. 7 to No. 45. Will her upcoming sultry performance in ‘A Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’ on Broadway restore her sex appeal?

Votes for the 12th annual list also prove that men are loving women over 40, including Vergara (No. 12), Sarah Silverman (No. 23), Lucy Liu; (No. 69) and Rachel Weisz (No 72). First Lady, Michelle Obama , at age 48, is the oldest woman featured on this list, at No. 33.

The well-publicized ‘Twilight’ saga is finally at an end with ‘Breaking Dawn Part 2′. The previous movie had left the audience hanging with Bella dying in childbirth and Edward desperately trying to change her into a vampire. Jacob, who had hated the baby Renesmee, imprinted on her, which indicates that they will be future mates. The final seconds of ‘Part 1′ showed the newly-turned vampire Bella opening her eyes for the first time as an immortal, which is the exact scene that ‘Part 2′ began with. While the beginning was very slow and slightly cheesy, the movie quickly picked up momentum as the movie progressed. The acting was well-done and showed a different side of the Cullen family with the addition of Bella and Edward’s daughter Renesmee. The addition of the half-human half-vampire child added dimension to the final movie that was perhaps lacking in its predecessors. The audience was also able to better connect to the storyline since it revolved around a child being in danger and what family will do to protect that child.

Renesmee was in danger from the Volturi because they thought she was an immortal child who must be killed in order to protect the vampire race from exposure, so the Cullens did everything they could to convince other vampires that she was not an immortal child. Because of this added twist, the movie showed more of a broad spectrum of the vampire nation with the Cullens recruiting witnesses to their cause. Vampires were shown from the Amazon and Ireland, in addition to vampires that were thousands of years old. This new blend of characters added a freshness to the plot that had previously revolved around how much Bella wanted to be with Edward as a vampire.

The new vampire additions and Renesmee make the movie worth seeing because they bring humor and powerful emotions into the forefront. The new vampires were very old and had endured immense hardships, but were still humane in their quest to do what they thought was right. Perhaps because of their hardships, the vampires are able to look at life in a humorous and easy sort of way, which contrasted brilliantly with the Cullens intensity in life. Perhaps the funniest aspect of the addition of Renesmee was the fact that Jacob had to explain to Bella that he had imprinted on her newborn daughter. Bella used her new super strength to her advantage and literally threw Jacob around in her anger. Jacob’s relationship with Renesmee was that of a protector and pseud-older brother, not one of a future mate, which was good to see.

Bella’s character also undergoes a huge transformation since she has become a mother, which is a great asset for the movie. She is no longer the wimpy human who could not fight and lets Edward control every situation; instead, she is one of the strongest characters in the movie and was not afraid to be aggressive towards Edward either. She had always been the ‘Twilight’ movies’ weakness. Surprisingly, Edward seems very proud of Bella’s new strength, which sends the positive message that it is acceptable to be a stronger woman in a relationship. Edward’s relationship with Jacob also dramatically changes in this conclusion, since they are no longer competitors for Bella’s affections; instead, Jacob wants to protect and be with Edward’s daughter.

The new additions of Renesmee, the other vampire characters, and the development of Bella as a vampire made the movie extremely hilarious and unpredictable, which I did not think was possible in a ‘Twilight’ movie. Not only that, but it also showcased the actual book more, especially within the last ten minutes. While the movie remained slightly cheesy at times, it was overall a satisfying conclusion to the Twilight saga.

Robert Pattinson has reportedly asked Kristen Stewart, 22, to move out of the $6 million house they share together shortly after news broke that Stewart had cheated on him.

Pattinson left the home shortly after he learned about Stewart’s makeout session with the director of ‘Snow White and the Huntsman,’ Rupert Sanders, 41. Pattinson has been staying out of the public eye and away from his house, but according to a source close to the couple they have barely talked since the news came out. In fact, the only time that the couple has talked was when Pattinson asked Stewart to move out, according to a confidential source from People.

A U-Haul was seen outside the house on Saturday, July 28. It looks like Rob is not taking the ‘momentary indiscretion,’ as Stewart described it, very well. “The entire thing has been such a blow to Rob. Talk about having his heart ripped out. Rob just isn’t going to be able to get past the cheating – one time or not,” the source told People magazine.

The “momentary indiscretion” was caught on film by paparazzi that saw Sanders get into Stewart’s Mini Cooper and then witnessed the couple making out in the car.

However, this incident may not be only a ‘momentary indiscretion. According to Sanders’ brother-in-law, Leopold Ross, Sanders and Stewart were having the affair for almost a year. Ross told People that his sister and Rupert’s wife, Liberty Ross, suspected that the affair began the year before. “It was from the last half of filming and all through post-production, clear into last week.”

According to sources, Liberty is giving Sanders a second chance. “She accepts that it was just one of those silly flirtations. This kind of thing gets blown out of all proportion,” a close friend reported to The Telegraph.

Liberty Ross has already given up a lot for her husband – such as leaving her home in England to help him pursue his career in Hollywood – according to Leopold Ross. “She made some sacrifices for something she thought was worth it, now she knows, right? It might actually make things better in the long run. She wasn’t that happy for a while, but our family is close, she’ll be all right.”

Although Sanders is getting a second chance it doesn’t look like Stewart will. However, she and Pattinson will have to see each other at least one more time to co-host the MTV Video Music Awards on September 6. The two are also supposed to start doing their promotional tour for the latest film in the Twilight saga ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2’ which comes to theaters November 16.

‘Twilight’ fans are on a rampage since actress and ‘Twilight’ star Kristen Stewart, 22, has been revealed as a cheating girlfriend. Her victim: co-star and heartthrob Robert Pattinson, 26. The two began their relationship four years ago when they met on the set of ‘Twilight’.

US Weekly reported that Stewart and the British director of ‘Snow White and the Huntsman‘, Rupert Sanders, were caught in a “marathon makeout session” on July 17. A photographer reported, “it seemed like they couldn’t get enough.”

At a press conference a few weeks earlier Sanders was quoted as saying about Stewart, “there’s something very rebellious about her. She’s very kind of wild and untamed…She’s got a great spirit.” Yes, indeed, director.

Stewart issued an apology on Wednesday, July 25 stating: “I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused t othose close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”

According to a source close to Stewart the actress “wasn’t having an affair with Rupert…it was just a fleeting moment that shouldn’t have happened. She never meant to hurt anyone. She’s a good person who just made a bad choice.”

Rupert Sanders is dealing with his own drama now that the news broke on July 24. Sanders is married to actress/model Liberty Ross, 33, who played Stewart’s mother in ‘Snow White and the Huntsman.’ Sanders and Ross have two children together who are seven and five.

Sanders issued his own apology to his family stating, “I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.”

Liberty Ross tweeted the Marilyn Monroe quotation, “sometimes bad things fall apart so better things can fall together.” Things are not looking promising for Sanders.

As for Robert Pattinson, there has been no news as of yet about his feelings on the matter. The couple was seen together only a few weeks ago at the San Diego Comic-Con with co-star Taylor Lautner.

There is also no news as to how this tryst will affect the filming of the ‘Huntsman’ sequel which was expected to include both Stewart and Sanders in the production.

Kristen Stewart, the famous Twilight starlet, recently topped Forbes’ highest-paid actresses list. She made an estimated $34.5 million from May 2011 to May 2012. $34.5 million may seem like a lot of money, but women in the acting business are paid less than men. The women who made it onto Forbes’ highest-paid actresses list only earn a total of $200 million, compared to the $361 million that the top men rake in. There are many factors that determine who ends up on Forbes’ list. Upfront pay, profit participation, residuals, endorsements, and advertising work are all considered. Agency fees and expenses related to having a celebrity lifestyle are not included. Managers, agents, lawyers, and other people who are in the Hollywood loop helped Forbes to come up with their estimates.

At 22, Stewart is the youngest actress on the Forbes list by 16 years.

Needless to say, Stewart’s reoccurring role as Bella Swan in the Twilight saga has helped her to reach the peak of her career and the top of the Forbes’ list. Her latest role as Snow White in “Snow White and the Huntsman” has also helped her revenue.

Veteran actress Cameron Diaz ranked second on the Forbes list. Diaz raked in $34 million over the same time-frame as Stewart. Her 2011 comedy, Bad Teacher, made $216 million in global ticket sales, which is more than double of what its budget was. “The Green Hornet” and “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” also helped Diaz to be ranked second.

Surprisingly, Sandra Bullock trailed $9 million behind Cameron Diaz. Bullock raked in $25 million. The 47-year old actress is still earning revenue from her 2009 Oscar winning hit, “The Blind Side”. The film earned $310 million.

During Christmas of 2011, Bullock’s film “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close” only earned $48 million. Bullock is currently working on a big-budget sci-fi film directed by Alfonso Cuaron, Gravity. The film also stars George Clooney. “Gravity” is scheduled to be released in 2013.

Angelina Jolie and Charlize Theron rounded out the top 5 on the Forbes list. Jolie raked in $20 million while Theron raked in $18 million.

Kristen Stewart may be snatching the number one spot again next year on Forbes’ list of highest-paid actresses. Stewart has the highly anticipated last installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn– Part 2 to look forward to later this year. She is currently working on the film Cali, which is scheduled to be released in 2013.

Among the summer blockbusters that boast superheroes, spies, and presidential vampire hunters, ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ (2012) boldly takes a step forward into the fray. The film, directed by Rupert Sanders, takes an action-oriented approach to the classic fairytale and boasts jaw-dropping beautiful effects, standout performances from Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth, and a fresh view of one of the most famous princess stories of all time. However, while a good movie, ‘Snow White’ fails to live up to its full potential due to writing errors in both plot and characterization.

Spoiler alert!

The basic story is that Snow White is the daughter of two beloved rulers. Not long after having Snow White, the Queen falls ill and dies, leaving the King heartbroken. A dark army rises against the kingdom and shortly after defeating them, the King finds an enchantingly beautiful woman named Ravenna (Charlize Theron). He weds her immediately and Ravenna reveals that she is actually a powerful sorceress who beds kings and murders them by sucking out their vitality to take their kingdoms. She lets her dark army into the castle and they take over the kingdom, locking Snow White (Kristen Stewart) in a tower for over a decade.

Ravenna asks her magic mirror who is the fairest of them all and it tells her that Snow White is destined to surpass her. If she consumes Snow White’s heart, she will become immortal. Ravenna sends her brother, Finn (Sam Spuell) to bring Snow White to her, but his lust for Snow White allows her to injure him and escape the castle. Snow White runs into the dark forest and so the Queen orders her brother to bring her someone who has traveled through it before. They find a huntsman named Eric (Chris Hemsworth) and make a bargain with him. If he brings Snow White to the Queen, the Queen will resurrect his wife, whose death still haunts the huntsman. He reluctantly agrees and travels into the forest to find Snow White.

He quickly finds her and demands that Finn tells the Queen to hold up her end of the bargain, but Finn reveals that even the Queen cannot bring someone back from the dead so their deal is broken. Eric helps Snow White escape and they travel deeper into the forest. Snow White asks Eric to take her to Duke Hammond (Vincent Regan) and his son William (Sam Claflin), her childhood friend, so she can raise an army to fight the Queen. Eric does not know she is Snow White so he is still unwilling to help her. He leads her to a village where he thinks she’ll be safe, but Finn and his men find them and burn down the village. Seeing the destruction and learning she is the princess, the huntsman agrees to help her and they continue onward.

The highlights of the film are plentiful. Chris Hemsworth shows that he has the capacity to be a tough, belligerent hero while still having a soft side that would make any woman’s heart melt. He does most of the heavy lifting in the acting department, which works well since Kristen Stewart is still young and has not come into her own style yet.

Likewise, Charlize Theron knocks it out of the park as the evil Queen. Not only is she a heartless monster of epic proportions, but also as we learn Ravenna’s background, we can’t help but feel a certain sense of pity for her. She had been enchanted by her mother as a last ditch effort to save her and honestly believes that both love and men are evil, and that eternal beauty is the only thing in the world worth having. She is a terrifying, yet lovely, visage throughout the film and ironically breathes life into her role with her soul-sucking powers.

The effects for ‘Snow White’ are staggeringly wonderful. The environments are well rendered in every scene—from the disturbing dark forest to the gorgeous fairies’ dwelling. Special mention goes to the effects team who worked on the seven dwarves, who are played by familiar faces like Ian McShane, Ray Winstone, Nick Frost, Bob Hoskins, and Eddie Marsan to name a few.

However, ‘Snow White’ has a lot of problems; foremost, the writing. There are so many rookie mistakes that keep this film from being as great as it could have been. Mainly, there are three flaws: Snow White’s lack of characterization, the undeveloped love triangle between Snow White, the Huntsman, and William, and the blatant refusal to answer anything about this magical fairy tale land.

Snow White is known for her beauty and kindness, but Kristen Stewart’s portrayal is not entirely successful because Stewart hardly ever smiles through the course of the movie. It is clear that she is a kind soul, but she spends so much of the film running away from danger and struggling with the destruction around her that it is hard to connect with her. The busy plot does not allow her time to reveal her personality for more than a few fleeting seconds and so it is difficult to root for her in the final battle scenes.

The film also does not utilize William, Snow White’s childhood friend, in any effective manner. We are led to believe that he is the love interest, but then halfway through the film, it is revealed that the huntsman also has feelings for Snow White. The biggest turn of events is that William’s kiss does not awaken Snow White when she eats the poison apple, but the huntsman’s kiss does wake her. Then the film completely abandons the subplot and does not explain if Snow White knew it was Eric who woke her and not William. This is a gigantic ripoff of a subplot because the movie simply ends without addressing the rather significant issue.

Overall, the film is enjoyable, but has too many things holding it back from being fantastic. I recommend it to lovers of fairy-tales, but go in with moderate expectations.

“Breath of Life”, is the first official single released for the upcoming summer film, ‘Snow White and The Huntsman’ performed by Florence + The Machine.

Reportedly written from the perspective of the evil Queen Raveena; “I just thought that the queen was such an amazing character, literally sucking the life of young girls,” said Welch. The song is about the evil queen trying to capture the youth and beauty of Snow White.

Welch’s chilling voice is perfect for this menacing version of a classic fairytale, gliding over a harmonious blend of melodies and pulsating drums. Complete with a full orchestra, the live symphony adds to the tracks epic “heavenly” haunting quality with rising anticipation. “I think the audience, I would like them to be slightly afraid,” said Welch.

After the overwhelming success of the soundtrack’s first single, it has left US fans anxious, wanting for more. The official announcement came earlier this Monday, that Florence + The Machine will be returning to the United States for third time this coming Fall 2012. The ‘Ceremonials’ tour plays for 13 dates throughout the country starting in Mansfield, MA on September 14 and wrapping up in Albuquerque, NM on October 10.

Florence + The Machine’s sophomore album ‘Ceremonials’ went straight to number one in UK after selling over 90,000 copies in its first week alone. I had a near matching success in the states, peaking at #1 on the charts and placing top 10 on the US Billboard chart with the albums second track ‘Shake it out’ and ‘What the Water Gave Me’.

Expect the ‘Ceremonials’ tour performances to be filled with theatrical emotion amidst an echoing gospel choir with songs like ‘Leave My Body” and ‘Only for a Night’ written about Welch’s long passed grandmother appearing to her in a dream…“and the only solution was to stand and fight, and my body was loosing all the satellites, but you came over me like a holy life, and I know how this works, you’re the only light, only if for a night…”

The tour will also feature bands, The Maccabees and The Weekend. A majestic platform of strings, bellowing tribal drums and Welch’s compelling baroque-pop stylized vocals the audience will be left with no short of feeling, an awakening of the soul and senses. Tickets go on sale May 11.

Summit Entertainment, a Lionsgate company, has announced that the home entertainment release of the current installment in the studio’s blockbuster Twilight Saga film franchise, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 sold an estimated 3.2 million DVD and Blu-ray units during its first weekend of release.

DVD sales for the film, which became available at retail this past Saturday night at 12:01 a.m., are approximately 18% ahead of the opening weekend of the third film in the franchise, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, demonstrating continued demand and vibrancy of the Twilight Saga. The film also performed well via digital platforms notching approximately 50,000 Electronic Sell Through transactions, a 47% increase over its predecessor; and approximately 80,000 Video on Demand transactions, a 142% increase over Eclipse.

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Co-Chairmen Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger stated, “The incredible fan support for the characters and story that author Stephenie Meyer has created never ceases to impress.  We thank all of the fans for continuing their journey with us beyond the big screen and look forward to bringing you Breaking Dawn Part 2 later this year.”

The home entertainment release plans surrounding The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 continue the franchise’s pattern of building community among fans by once again holding midnight opening weekend launch events at retailers including Target and Walmart.

The two nationwide retail chains each offered exclusive versions of the DVD’s contents and packaging. In comparison The Twilight Saga: Eclipse sold 2.7 million units on DVD and Blu-ray in its first weekend. The price point per unit for this release was higher than in past installments leading to increased revenue dollars related to the franchise.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 has grossed over $700 million worldwide at the box office to date since its theatrical release on November 18, 2011.  The next chapter in The Twilight Saga, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will come to theatres on November 16, 2012.

Academy Award winner Bill Condon directed both the first and second part of the two-part finale starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. The project, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, was written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing.

That time of year is here again when a new installment of the Twilight Saga is on its way to theatres. This time we are gearing up for Breaking Dawn Part 1. With all the excitement and hype about the movie we are really being dialed into the long awaited Cullen wedding between two of the main characters, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson).

This wedding has been the talk of news outlets and media for months now — including what the dress is going to look like, and what kind of action we are going to see in the days leading up to the joyous occasion. The wedding has been very secretive from the very beginning.

While filming the crew even went so far as to, as Kristen puts in an interview with ClevverTv “tackle” her after they called cut in every take with a giant covering so that the dress was kept a secret until the premiere.

The wedding itself is filled with a lush arrangement of flowers and beautiful lighting as we see in the newly released trailers, and all of the supporting actors and actresses surrounding the happy couple such as Bella’s parents (Billy Burke and Sarah Clarke). The wedding is the opening of the film and has been long anticipated by the fans from the very beginning of the saga a few years ago as the real turning point of the series.

In previous films Edward’s stipulations for turning Bella was marriage, and now that she has given in to his request, the audience is on the edge of their seats wondering what is going to happen next. Now, if you’ve read the books you already know, but it’s hard to say what will actually happen in the films.

After the wedding we do know, however, that there is going to be a sexy, love-filled honeymoon, with a bit of a twist. Bella becomes pregnant. The hardest scene, Stewart says, was the birthing scene. She loved it, but things got a bit strange at some point or another. She states: “I really took to it.

My favorite thing to play in this was that feral sort of mother,” she explained. “None of it was really as strange as you think it would be. I guess it got strange when things were incredibly unreal, like when we had a fake baby. The real babies were amazing to work with, but suddenly you pick up this goopy, hairy doll, and it just doesn’t really work.”

Pattinson agreed with the strangeness of the scene and adds his not so pleasant experience: “I mean, it’s a little bit difficult to get more surreal than chewing through a placenta.”

The director and cast have given us plenty to look forward to as well after confessing that there was a real transformation in the characters in the film. In an interview, Actor Taylor Lautner explains his feeling about whether or not he looked forward to finally being finished with the filming of the series.

He says: “It’s more so no, I’m not excited to be done. We have a lot fun making these movies together. We all get along great, and we’re like a family by this point, so it’s tough,” he explained. “But yes at the same time, because we get to go off and do other things as actors, and this has been an incredible platform for us.”

This was reflected in all of the actors and actresses on board since the completion of Part 2 that is not due to come to theatres for some time yet. Now that they are all free from twilight they can go on to new projects. Who knows, maybe they will be part of the next phenomenon in film.
