Las Vegas, the city of excess, offers any and every type of food you could ever think to want. Here is a list of chain restaurants that are both reasonably priced and provide great service. Since they are chain restaurants, you can conveniently find them in and around Las Vegas. All of these restaurants are family-friendly, and a great place to meet friends at any time of day.

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse:

There are 3 locations in and around Las Vegas, but Toonari Post recently had a chance to enjoy the restaurant in Henderson, NV. This restaurant has great décor that is a combination of both a sports bar and a high end restaurant. The atmosphere creates a welcoming and sophisticated place to dine in with the comfortable seating and dark lighting. What is unique about BJ’s is that they brew not just their own beer, but also sodas. So no matter the age of the customer, there is a unique drink for them to try.  Once the drink is decided, there is a large menu with a variety of foods, including a great dessert option called Pizookie. This Pizookie has many flavors, but are all different types of delicious pizza cookies.

Claim Jumper:

There are 3 locations in and around Las Vegas, but Toonari Post recently had the opportunity to visit The Strip’s location. Just like BJ’s, there is a great mixture of class and sporty, but is still unique with walls made to look like a cabin, for example. The restaurant allows you to enjoy various types of seating whether booth or table, but the layout provides a quiet, personal atmosphere. The menu holds true to a lot of sit down restaurants with typical menu choices, but the great taste is definitely worth the trip.

Sweet Tomatoes:

For a healthy yet fun and filling choice for dinner, this is the restaurant for you. There are 4 Sweet Tomatoes locations in and around Las Vegas, but Toonari Post recently enjoyed the great service at the Henderson (Stephanie St.) location. This restaurant specializes in soups, salads, pizza, and desserts. The restaurant is a great alternative for a quick lunch, without it having to be the unhealthy fast food alternative. Sweet Tomatoes is a great place to make your own meal according to which of the components you like more or less of.  They have an always changing menu depending on the time of year, such as soups just for the holidays. All are equally as tasty and worth the money. Another perk is that you do not have to wait for your food to be made; it is already there on the buffet for you.

Sunset Pizzeria:

This family owned and ran restaurant chain is an authentic alternative for your pizza choice. Sunset Pizzeria holds the great fresh taste of pizza, but with an old school look. The décor is great, and will keep you entertained throughout your meal. There are 3 locations around Las Vegas, but Toonari Post recently went to the Henderson location. The restaurant in Henderson specifically provided a cozy feel to the dinner, and a laid back atmosphere. There are great deals with pricing, for both delivery and eat-in. The restaurant provides more than just pizza though, including pasta, sandwiches, salads, and more. While the great prices and menu will draw you in, the great service will make you want to stay and dine-in.

If you are still hungry for dessert after visiting these restaurants, make sure to try Ethel M’s chocolate whether at their store and factory locations around Las Vegas or in the airport on your way home. Ethel M’s chocolates come in any form you could think of; from fudge pieces to real hot chocolate. While visiting their factory in Henderson, NV you can even learn how they make the specialty chocolate thanks to a free tour.

If you are in need of a getaway anytime of the year, Las Vegas is the place to go. Las Vegas shows their tourist the lifestyle everyone expects in the United Sates; “you want it, we have it” opportunities. The city is full of hotel-casino combinations that allow you to have all you could need within a small radius. The sun is always shining (average 300 days of sunlight per year), but if it’s cloudy no worries, the city lights will be bright enough for you.

Las Vegas caters to all types of people, whether you are into theater, music, art, gambling, shopping, fine dining, business conventions, or just being entertained. All sorts of bars, casinos, restaurants, or venues are in Las Vegas, either on the Las Vegas strip or not too far away.

Although Las Vegas is a huge tourist attraction, there are a great number of residents who find the city and surrounding area home. According to www.lasvegasnevada.org, the city of Las Vegas’s population 606, 656 while Clark County as a whole is home to 2,036,358 residents.

Do not let “CSI: Las Vegas” scare you about violence and crime; there are a few statistics to help you feel relief. According to www.neighborhoodscout.com, Las Vegas is safer than 16 percent of cities in the United States.

Meanwhile, www.lvrj.com posted a news article this year stating that due to the police departments’ 2009 Domestic Violence Lethality Assessment program, the police have been able to reduce local crime in five major categories, including homicides, robberies, auto thefts, traffic fatalities, and sexual assault, and all hold a positive outlook for the future.

The people of Las Vegas want the tourists; they will try and keep your visit the safest and greatest experience yet. www.clsearch.com produced a document in 2010 ranking the quality of life of Las Vegas and Nevada compared to the United States. With the United States holding a consistent 100 ranking, Las Vegas and Nevada are comparative.

Las Vegas had a ranking of 174, while Nevada was 120 compared to the U.S.’s 100. While having a greater number for the quality of life, the two also held higher for the quality of amusement. No surprise there, Nevada held 176 while Nevada was 135 compared to the 100 of the United States ranking. The index just goes to prove how Nevada is a place to go to have fun and enjoy life; specifically in Las Vegas.

The Strip holds a lot of entertainment and accommodations, as do the surrounding areas. The Strip is four miles long, so walking is the best transportation option and creates a very convenient way to see all the drastically different casinos along the street. Just like the variety of venues and entertainment, there is a variety of types of transportation too.

There are 29 casinos along the 4 mile stretch, while there are 77 total in Las Vegas.

Paris Las Vegas is pleased to announce internationally-renowned Chef Gordon Ramsay will open his first Las Vegas restaurant, Gordon Ramsay Steak, in the spring of 2012 in the heart of the picturesque resort. The new restaurant will replace Les Artistes Steakhouse.

Michelin Star Chef Gordon Ramsay, known not only for his refined cuisine, but also his TV personality on several hit programs including “Hell’s Kitchen,” “MasterChef” and “Kitchen Nightmares,” has generated world-wide attention and entertained viewers on six continents.

“Few chefs in the world have extended their reputations to as many countries and into as many homes as Chef Ramsay,” said Paris Las Vegas President David Hoenemeyer. ”His fiery passion for excellence has been validated by the culinary world’s top epicurean honors, by his legions of delighted restaurant guests and by millions of TV fans. We, at Paris Las Vegas, believe that the addition of Gordon Ramsay Steak, will be an exciting new milestone in the city’s impressive culinary evolution.”

The contemporary steakhouse will boast a total of 274 seats including a large bar area, chef’s table and private dining room in addition to the main room. Guests will be encouraged to relax in the spacious lounge or enjoy a cozy booth in this ultimate modern steakhouse.

“Vegas is such a vibrant city, and I’m excited to open my first Las Vegas restaurant in a Caesars Entertainment resort – Paris Las Vegas,” said Gordon Ramsay. “The space is really bold and innovative, and we’ve put together a great team and created a contemporary, quality menu. I can’t wait to open and start welcoming guests!”

Gordon Ramsay Steak will be a fresh, high-energy dining environment that playfully transports guests from Paris to London. Set within the Paris casino, which is whimsically modeled after the “City of Lights,” the restaurant design will celebrate Chef Ramsay and the city of London, where he lives. This innovative concept will reflect edgy, exciting and bold designs and will bridge the resort’s Parisian theme with Ramsay’s British heritage.

A prefect synergy as Ramsay’s early education took place in the Paris kitchens of famous Michelin Star Chefs such as Guy Savoy and Joel Robuchon. San Francisco based EDG Interior Architecture + Design, which previously created designs for Rao’s and Bradley Ogden restaurants at Caesars Palace, will spearhead the design.

This fresh new restaurant will offer guests a look at the exclusive beef aging program created under the direction of Chef Ramsay and his culinary team. The menu selections will range from traditional steakhouse fare with delectable cuts of beef to Ramsay’s signature fish and chips and Shepard’s Pie.

This dynamic new addition to Ramsay’s profound collection of restaurants will offer the freshest seafood to mouth-watering cuts of beef, French-influenced sides and delicious desserts.
