No change at the very top this week with the Packers remaining undefeated and the 49ers remaining a 1 loss team, but after that there were some shakeups. The Steelers moved into first with the best record in the AFC as they beat Cincinnati. The Saints and Bears break into the top 5 with solid wins over divisional rivals. The big winners for the week were the Patriots, Cowboys, Titans, and Broncos.

The Patriots took control of the AFC East with a win over the Jets and moved from 13th up to 8th. The Cowboys beat up on the Bills and moved to 12th from 15th and look to continue moving up with an easy schedule ahead of them.

The Titans saw Chris Johnson finally break out and with Matt Schaub potentially out for the season they look to make a run at the AFC South title. The Broncos are now at 19 after being 23 the week before as they notched another win against Kansas City which puts them right in the race for the AFC West title.

Other notable winners are the Cardinals who jumped from 29th to 22nd and the Seahawks who moved from 28th to 24th. The big losers this week are the Ravens, Lions, Eagles, and Redskins. The Ravens fell from 3rd to 7th with a bad loss to the Seahawks, but with a season sweep of the Steelers they’re still in the thick of it.

The Lions fall from 4th to 10th  got pummeled by the Bears who got 2 defensive touchdowns and a Devin Hester punt return, while injuring quarterback Matt Stafford. The Eagles nightmare season continues as they fall from 18th to 23rd after losing to the Cardinals. The Redskins fall from 22nd to 26th with a fifth straight loss, this one at the hands of the Dolphins, and no answer for their quarterback problem.

Another notable loser is the Panthers who fell from 26th to 30th. Bringing up the rear yet again this week is the Colts who fell to 0-10 after losing to the Jaguars and their bye week couldn’t have come any sooner for a team in need of a lot of help.

2 (2) 49ers 8-1 With a solid win over the Giants the 49ers showed Frank Gore isn’t needed for the team to get it done.
3 (5) Steelers 7-3 This week the defense held as the Steelers won a close one in Cincinnati.
4 (6) Saints 7-3 Going into their bye the Saints control their destiny in the AFC South, but face the Giants and Lions at home after.
5 (8) Bears 6-3 The Bears defense and special teams had a field day as the Bears beat up the Lions.
6 (7) Giants 6-3 Eli came close to making it two comebacks two weeks in a row, but couldn’t get it done against the 49ers
7 (3) Ravens 6-3 There’s no excuse for RB Ray Rice to get five carries and QB Joe Flacco to throw 52 times. (James Walker ESPN)
8 (13) Patriots 6-3 The Patriots handled business beating up the Jets and sweeping the season series. They are now in sole possession of 1st in the AFC East.
9 (9) Texans 7-3 It looks like it will be up to Matt Leinart to quarterback the Texans the rest of the season and he gets an extra week with a bye.
10 (4) Lions 6-3 Not only did the Lions get beaten badly by Chicago, but Matthew Stafford fractured his right index finger.
11 (10) Bengals 6-3 The Bengals look for real losing a close one to Pittsburgh.
12 (15) Cowboys 5-4 DeMarco Murray looks to be the real deal and with a healthy Tony Romo and an easy schedule the Cowboys are ready for a late season run.
13 (12) Falcons 5-4 One controversial decision on fourth and 1 in OT was the difference between the Falcons winning and losing to the Saints.
14 (11) Jets 5-4 The Jets got beat bad by the Patriots who now technically hold a two game lead in the East with a season series sweep.
15 (17) Raiders 5-4 Carson Palmer gets his first victory as a Raider and does it against Phillip Rivers and the Chargers.
16 (20) Titans 5-4 Chris Johnson finally broke free against the Panthers, but the Falcons are a much stronger run defense. (Paul Kuharsky ESPN)
17 (14) Bills 5-4 After starting 3-0 the Bills are 2-4 in their last six games and have gotten blown out in two straight games.
18 (16) Chargers 4-5 The Chargers are a mess right now as they fall into a 3 way tie with Denver and Kansas City for second place behind the Raiders.
19 (23) Broncos 4-5 The Broncos and Tim Tebow are proving they can win despite Tebow’s inability to throw the ball.
20 (19) Buccaneers 4-5 Good luck to the Bucs, who have lost four of five and now play road games against the Packers and Titans. (Mike Sando ESPN)
21 (21) Chiefs 4-5 After losing two straight, it looks like the Chiefs will have to face the Patriots without Matt Cassel.
22 (29) Cardinals 3-6 John Skelton led the Cardinals back against the Eagles, but the true test will be this week with a trip to San Francisco.
23 (18) Eagles 3-6 The Eagles are hanging on by a thread, but a loss this week to the Giants will stick a fork in their season.
24 (28) Seahawks 3-6 The Seahawks had an impressive showing with a win over the Ravens.
25 (27) Jaguars 3-6 The loss of cornerback Rashean Mathis to a knee injury is a potential killer for a team reliant on its defense. (Paul Kuharsky ESPN)
26 (22) Redskins 3-6 Rex Grossman and John Beck aren’t the answers for the Redskins QB situation.
27 (24) Vikings 2-7 Though they got blown out by the Packers, Christian Ponder keeps taking strides forward as a developing QB who should get some help from a high draft pick.
28 (25) Browns 3-6 A botched snap which led to a missed FG from 22 yards helped the Browns lose to the Rams.
29 (31) Dolphins 2-7 The Dolphins won their second straight with a solid win over Washington.
30 (26) Panthers 2-7 For the first time this season, Cam Newton looked like a rookie quarterback.
31 (31) Rams 2-7 The Rams got their second win, but with more injuries they are heavily depleted at all positions.
32 (32) Colts 0-10 Well at least they can’t lose this week. They head into a bye with Cam Newton and the Panthers looming afterwards.
