Miami, U.S.A. — In an effort to catapult the careers of emerging music artists and Latin DJs, organizers of Hispanicize 2013 has unveiled a one-of-a-kind Hispanicize Music Festival that will showcase a full scope of Latin music artists ranging from indie alternative rockers to salsa groups and even legendary music artists.

“Our Festival will give the Latin music industry a powerful, 360-degree platform that will connect them directly with hundreds of Hispanic journalists, bloggers, brands and agencies – the most strategic audiences Latin music artists want and need to perform in front of,” said Manny Ruiz, founder and creative director of Hispanicize 2013.

Hispanicize 2013 (#Hispz13) will take place April 9-13, 2013 at the Eden Roc Hotel in Miami Beach. At the fourth annual Latino trends event, bloggers, filmmakers, journalists, marketers and music artists will convene throughout the course of five days for more than 80 sessions to hear 200 speakers present about every facet of media, social media, entertainment and marketing.

Hispanicize 2013 Music Festival Overview

The Hispanicize 2013 Music Festival consists of a multi-faceted platform tailored to the Latin music industry. The festival includes:

Concerts and special Latin music events: Every night of Hispanicize 2013 will showcase the music talents of up and coming Latin artists and/or Latin DJs with a special focus on emerging artists. Music festival events will range from performances at the Eden Roc hotel to offsite concert venues throughoutMiami Beach and even a closing night event celebrating the cult classic film “La Bamba” that will feature celebrity Latin DJs.

Celebrity music artist performances: Even though the focus of the festival is on the next big artists, the music festival will also showcase celebrity music artists as they will help anchor some of the most important concerts featuring indie groups and performers.

Latinovator Award:  At least one of the recipients of the prestigious 2013 Latinovator award will be a major Latino influencer from the Latin music industry. In 2012 music legend Emilio Estefan was the first recipient ever of the Latinovator award, the highest honor the Hispanicize event bestows to Hispanic Americans who have accomplished something notable or inspiring in their field.

15-Minutes of Genius – Music Edition: Hispanicize 2013 will host a special “15-Minutes of Genius” session specifically about the Latin music industry.  The “15-Minutes of Genius” session consists of five back-to-back, 15-minute presentations packed with genius insights from leading Latin music industry experts.

The Gorge Amphitheatre, located in George, Wash., is undoubtedly one of the most scenic concert venues in the world and offers sweeping views of the Columbia River Gorge. The area itself is a watershed for the Columbia River, thus inspiring the name of the event. The Watershed Music Festival will feature a limited capacity of 25,000 and will offer lawn terrace seating and premiere camping options.

Talking Stick Resort, an enterprise of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, has announced the appointment of Danny Zelisko Presents as its new entertainment buyer. As of today, Zelisko and his team became responsible for the procurement of talent for the AAA Four Diamond property.

“It is with much anticipation that we make this announcement about our partnership with Danny Zelisko Presents. His long-standing ties within both Arizona and the entertainment industry will be a huge asset to Talking Stick Resort,” said Peter Arceo, senior director sales and marketing for Talking Stick Resort.

Danny Zelisko, the founder of Danny Zelisko Presents, has been a staple in the Valley since 1974. He has promoted thousands of concerts in Arizona, including Dooley’s Nightclub, a 700 person capacity venue in Tempe, Arizona. There, he helped break the careers of many headliners, including The Police, Bon Jovi, No Doubt and Nirvana.

From those shows came the creation of the legendary concert promotion firm, Evening Star which eventually became the Southwest’s most prominent concert promoter, booking and promoting the majority of the shows that came to Las Vegas and New Mexico, as well.

In 2001, Evening Star was sold to SFX, the company that became Live Nation. Zelisko remained president and chairman of Live Nation Southwest until starting his current enterprise last year. In his role as buyer for Talking Stick Resort, he will be responsible for securing headline talent in two of the property’s main venues, the Salt River Grand Ballroom and The Showroom.

“With two great venues on property, it is essential that we continue to secure the best shows in the Valley, ensuring that we meet the demands of our loyal guests,” said Arceo.

Top headline acts that have performed in Talking Stick Resort’s 1600 seat Grand Ballroom include Brian Wilson, Cheap Trick, Smokey Robinson and Huey Lewis and the News. Rock legends Chicago and The Doobie Brothers will share the stage this summer for an evening of classic rock hits spanning both artists’ extensive repertoire of chart topping and award winning hits. Doubling the value for fans this summer, both bands will co-headline the 21 date U.S.tour kicking off on July 11th in Tuscon, AZ at the Anselmo Valencia Amphitheatre with confirmed dates through August 24th at the Toyota Pavilion in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

This is the third consecutive year that Chicago has teamed up with the American Cancer Society to create “Sing With Chicago,” a highly successful promotion that has raised over $130,000 to fight breast cancer.  Fans in every market will be able to bid on a package that includes a meet and greet with the band, two premium tickets and a chance to sing onstage in concert with the band.

Northern California’s Doobie Brothers are celebrating the 40th anniversary of their propulsive roots-based, harmony laden, guitar driven style that sold an estimated 40 million records over the course of four decades.

Hard Rock Rising, the global battle of the bands, will give one local band from this international competition the chance of a lifetime – to be on the bill with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at one of the world’s most-anticipated concert events.

Live Nation Entertainment announced recently it has opened a concert promotion office in Seoul, South Korea.

This marks another important step in Live Nation’s international expansion into new markets. South Korea is the 13th largest economy in the world, and the 3rd largest in the Far East, with growth of 6% in 2010. It also ranks as the 12th largest music market in the world, which is largely attributable to K-Pop, whose popularity is now spreading rapidly to other markets outside of South Korea and the Far East.

“We see great opportunity for concerts around the world and our move into South Korea represents another step in the growth of this business,” stated Michael Rapino, President and Chief Executive Officer of Live Nation Entertainment. ”Our strategy is to continue our international expansion into under penetrated regions and identify new markets to deliver our unique live experience product.”

Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters and Blink-182 will headline The Bamboozle 2012, one of the East Coast’s oldest and largest music festivals, when the three-day music and pop culture event is staged at North Beach Asbury Park, New Jersey, May 18, 19 and 20.

The Bamboozle, presented by Live Nation, will return to the beach at Asbury Park for the first time since 2005, and will feature over 100 acts performing on nine stages spread throughout the beach and boardwalk, including the renowned Convention Hall. Since its inception, The Bamboozle has evolved to become a respected institution within the music festival circuit.

Now in its 10th year, The Bamboozle has consistently featured the best musical talent from established to new artists spanning multiple music genres, and has always been a one of a kind resource for artist development. Previously-featured up-and-coming acts that have gone on to become breakout artists include Paramour, My Chemical Romance, Wiz Halifax, Fall Out Boy, Jonas Brothers, and many more.

Bon Jovi has sold 130 million records and has played in over 50 countries to 34 million fans in their twenty-year career. The band won a Grammy Award for the #1 hit single, 2005′s “Who Says You Can’t Go Home,” which is currently used in the New Jersey state tourism commercials. Bon Jovi had the number one tour in 2008 and 2010.

In November of 2010, Bon Jovi released Greatest Hits: The Ultimate Collection, featuring all of the band’s biggest chart-topping hits, the most beloved fan-favorites, and four new tracks, including the lead single, “What Do You Got.”

Headliners Foo Fighters will make their Bamboozle debut. This appearance rides the momentum of their 2011 release Wasting Light, which debuted at #1 in the USA, and a dozen countries around the world. 2011 saw Foo Fighters playing to sold-out crowds in garages, arenas, and stadiums around the world.

Wasting Light was recently nominated for six Grammy Awards, including the prestigious Album of the Year. It was named iTunes Album of the Year, and “Walk” was awarded Best /Rock Video at this year’s MTV Awards.

Blink-182′s seventh album, Neighborhoods, was released September 27, 2011, and debuted at number 2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Since its 1994 full-length debut, the band has sold more than 11 million albums, and filled arenas and stadiums both in the U.S. and worldwide. All six of their previous albums have been certified either gold or double platinum, with 1999′s Enema of the State selling more than four million copies.

As for the return to Asbury Park, D’Esposito said, “For the 10th anniversary, it was important to create an event that would leave a lasting impression. In order to do that, we had to go back to where the seed had been planted, Asbury Park.”

Additional performers will be announced in the New Year for The Bamboozle, with more information to come about The Bamboozle Roadshow 2012. The annual “The Break Contest,” the official unsigned band competition of the festival returns and will be presented by Yuuzoo with the grand prize winner receiving a performance slot on the main stage and other prizes.
