Santiago de Compostela, Spain – Moonbite, the European studio of games and animation based in Spain, has gladly launched its first-person-survival-horror-comedy-shooter Zombeer, Zombies & Beers on Steam’s Greenlight. In celebration of the occasion, Moonbite today unveils a brand new video featuring the cruel effects of zombification in Zombeer’s gameplay.

On Greenlight, the PC player community has the opportunity to take part in the adventure and make the game happen on the Steam platform. Positive votes will push the game up in the Greenlight ranking.

After voting, you can also participate by simply adding your name on Zombeer Website, and be included in the credits of the game plus appearing in a secret room hidden in the game itself. Let’s make it the biggest credits list in History.

This second gameplay video features new (and ugly) villains, the nailer weapon, and above all the famous zombification process that can only be controlled by the consumption of… zomBeer of course. Drinking will prevent the virus from awakening the zombie inside you, but like in real life you will need to drink in moderation or risk losing control for another bad reason. The other way around, not drinking at all, will actually turn you into a zombie which is both good and bad news as you will probably discover soon enough…

Zombeer, Zombies & Beers is planned to be released on consoles, PC and Mac later this year.

Rumbic Studio has unveiled Lost in Night, the company’s latest offering for casual gamers. Combining fast-paced Match-3 action and the excitement of city-building, Lost in Night features three gameplay modes, hand-drawn graphics and relaxing music, and bonuses to keep experienced players on their toes.

As a Match-3 game, the “core” action consists of clearing groups of tiles of different colors. Find three in a row and blow them up, with sometimes unexpected results. Connoisseurs can play against the clock for more adrenalin, while new players receive automatic hints (after five seconds of inactivity) for how to make the well-placed move that can turn the tide of the game.

While other Match-3 games support only one gameplay mode (Swap or Chain), Lost in Night goes a step further by now including Group, a third, new gameplay mode. Swap pieces between spots, trace a “chain” between identical pieces, or – now – explode groups of similar colors. And to complete a level, destroy the marble plaques. It’s harder than it sounds. Another game exclusive is the shape of the playing field: Lost in Night offers a traditional rectangular field as well as an innovative six-sided one for a greater challenge.

Bombs, magnets, lightning, shuffles and other bonuses add another dimension of fun. Bombs and magnets offer targeted assistance, removing pieces in a certain area or of a particular color. By randomly moving or removing game pieces, lightning forces even the smartest players to rethink their strategies on the fly. Chains “tie down” pieces until they are exploded by a neighboring piece. Trophies await those who rise to the occasion. Big explosions, high scores, and combo moves all merit special awards, proudly displayed in the Trophy Lodge.

There is more to Lost in Night than just destroying rows of pieces, however. Players earn coins and points as they progress, which go to building city structures. The structures, built gradually, complement each other and help the player to uncover the city’s secret. Snail races are an entertaining interlude, giving clicking fingers a break as players prepare for the next round. But be sure not to ignore our molluskan friends: by placing bets on the snails, it is possible to win more gold, and more gold means that a bigger, better city gets built.

Lost in Night stands out for its multimedia as well. Hand-drawn background graphics form a pleasant contrast to the cheap renderings found in other software, while the included music helps to relax and concentrate.

The game is available for evaluation in trial mode, as a risk-free demo. Purchase the full version to immediately remove all restrictions on gameplay and playing time.

Espoo, Finland – Rovio Entertainment, the creators of Angry Birds, announced their newest game on September 4, 2012, Bad Piggies, launching September 27 for iOS, Android and Mac. This innovative game turns the franchise on its head by letting the fans play as the pigs – with all new, never-before-seen gameplay – and not a slingshot in sight.

“There’s a lot of empathy towards the lovable enemies from the Angry Birds games, and we’ve been constantly asked: what about the pigs’ side of the story?” said Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio. “Bad Piggies gives you the chance to play as the second-most-loved characters in the Angry Birds universe, and explore this rich world through their green eyes.”

The new game will launch on iOS, Android and Mac on September 27. Windows Phone, Windows 8 and PC versions will follow shortly.

Tel-Aviv, Israel — SpikySnail Games, announced on August 21, 2012, that The Splatters is currently in development for PC and Mac, and will be available on Steam as soon as the game is ready for release.

The Splatters debuted on Xbox Live Arcade earlier this year and received a number of editor’s choice awards. Despite the critical acclaim for the XBLA version, SpikySnail is focused on re-imagining the game for the PC audience and will deliver a new version that builds on the success of the console game.

“As much as we love the the XBLA version of the game, we also learned a lot from it,” said Niv Fisher, co-founder of SpikySnail Games. “Being small and independent brings plenty of disadvantages, but one of the upsides is getting to do what you really believe in.

And in this point in time we would like to try a little different approach which we believe is a meaningful improvement. It also gives us tons of new and interesting stuff to deal with besides the port itself (which can get quite boring).”

The studio expects the PC, Mac and Linux versions of the game to take a little longer than usual, so no release dates are being announced yet. The team believes the extra time and effort required to make the game right for PC, Mac and Linux gamers will be worth the wait.

Those familiar with the XBLA version will find lots of new stuff to discover when the game is released on Steam. Those who haven’t had the chance to try The Splatters, will get a bigger and better experience all-around.
