New York, U.S.A – The BET Awards 12 performance stage line-up is getting hotter and definitely “Too Big To Miss.” Added to the roster is platinum musician D’Angelo, who will make his long-awaited return to the television stage after twelve years. His highly anticipated performance can be seen at the BET Awards 12, only on BET Networks on July 1, 2012 at 8 p.m.

“Usually, we love to keep surprises…but this year we want everyone watching when D’Angelo takes the stage at the BET Awards!” exclaimed Stephen G. Hill, BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials. “His talents have been away from us for far too long and we’re excited and honored that he’s decided to make his American re-entry at this year’s BET Awards.”

As if the BET Awards 12 show surprises aren’t already enough, Ford has partnered with BET Networks for the fifth year in a row to sponsor the red carpet and Ford Hot Spot, as well as give one lucky viewer the opportunity to win a brand new 2013 Ford Escape and $1,000 in cash. The winner will be announced live during the ‘106 & PARK’ BET Awards Pre-Show: Live, Red & Ready on Sunday, July 1st starting at 6:00 p.m.

BET Awards 12 will be hosted by box office superstar Samuel L. Jackson, who was last scene in this summer’s The Avengers, and will include exciting performances by Usher, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, G.O.O.D. MUSIC, Pusha T, Big Sean, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Wale and 2 Chainz. This year’s Humanitarian Award, which will be presented by State Farm, will go to Reverend Dr. Al Sharpton, and Maze featuring Frankie Beverly will receive the coveted Cadillac Lifetime Achievement Award. Taraji P. Henson, Meagan Good, Kevin Hart and Cedric the Entertainer will grace the Shrine Auditorium stage as presenters on Sunday, July 1st at 8:00 p.m. on BET Networks. All times are ET/PT.

Bad Boy Records proudly announced recently the signing of hip-hop street sensation French Montana. After much speculation and buzz about where the Bronx rapper would call home, Montana has officially joined the Bad Boy/Interscope Records family.

The highly anticipated announcement came during Bad Boy Records’ takeover of BET’s “106 & Park” where French appeared with his new label mates: Red Cafe, Cassie, and MGK. In addition, Montana premiered the powerful video for “Shot Caller” featuring Charlie Rock, which was directed by French Montana and Morocco Vaughn.

The single, which has been exploding on radio across the country, was produced by Harry Fraud and co-produced by Montana. Said Montana: “Signing with Bad Boy was more than just taking the best deal.  I wanted to do this for New York rap, and who better than Diddy to help me bring New York rap back.”

“When I saw what French Montana was doing, I knew we had to sign him. He is a gifted and special artist that continues to push the New York sound that I started Bad Boy on. It was only right we made the deal happen here,” said Diddy.

“Being a great Artist is one thing, but being a great person is priceless,” says the President of Bad Boy, Harve Pierre. “It wasn’t just about the music and movement; it was about French Montana the person. I signed French to Bad Boy/Interscope because I believe in him as an Artist and want to help him achieve his dream.”

Steadily supplying the streets with mix tapes since 2007 (as well as singles such as “Choppa Choppa Down” featuring Rick Ross), Montana will continue to feed his growing legion of fans with groundbreaking new music–including club bangin’ collaborations with Three 6 Mafia and Waka Flocka.

French is currently in the studio working on a new mix tape and finishing work on his upcoming Bad Boy/Interscope album debut ”Excuse My French”, scheduled for release in summer 2012.

Like a roller coaster, music has its ups and downs, changing frequently over the years and swapping artists, styles and flows like a game of blackjack. At its peak, it has catchy hooks, memorable lines and underlying messages to back up the crafty wordplay. Yet at its worst, it’s nothing more than words and sounds placed together in somewhat of a harmony.

No underlying messages. No catchy hooks. Yet, in the midst of being bombarded by music by hip hop icons like Drake, Rick Ross, J. Cole and the countless other entities dominating today’s music world, one under-the-radar name stood out unlike any other.

Nineteen-year-old Nicholas “Nick” Carter Green from Chicago, Illinois has grabbed the hip-hop world by the horns, combining his creative wordplay with  clever punchlines, smooth beats and a flow that embodies the prototypical upper-echelon rapper. I had a chance to catch up with Green and pick his brain about his recent success as of late.

“As far as I can remember, I had a love for that spotlight and all the attention and power that came with,” Green said. “We’re WorldStar famous now! It can only get better from here!”

Green’s recent hit off of his mixtape “XIX” hauled in over 5 million views on WorldStarHipHop.com, one of, if not the biggest portals for prospective, amateur and professional hip hop artists out there. You can check out his Remix to Drake’s hit, “Headlines,” here.

Green has released over 15 mixtapes and has been writing music since the tender age of nine years old. “Rise To Power”, “The.Other.Carter”, “Showcase”, “Mr. Carter” and “The Sampler” are just a few mixtapes the young artist has under his belt.

“I released about a thousand copies of that mixtape ["No Sleeping CD"] and I still didn’t think it was going to blow up like it did,” Green laughed. “I mean, everything changed when it dropped. People I had never met in my life either knew my name or knew I was the kid on the cover of the No Sleeping CD.”

Nick Carter Green has adopted the mantra “Music. Money. Love & Life” to persevere throughout any obstacles and push him to achieve his lifetime goal of climbing atop the rap game, a goal that he’s on pace to crack at any moment. Being featured on WorldStarHipHop and having his music played on DJ Timbuck2′s Go ILL radio show, Green is on the fast track to hip hop super-stardom.

The ceiling for the young artist is nowhere in sight, and the future looks incredibly bright for years to come. Combining his overflowing talent with his dedication to his passion, Nick Carter Green will be a household name in the near future. “Four songs a day. No more, no less.” he told me.

“I just wanted to push myself… to see if I could still have quantity, without jeopardizing the quality of it all. It’s that type of work ethic that’ll help me achieve my goal.”
