The Toonari Post - News, Powered by the People!

The Republican convention has started and with it, the political attacks on the Democratic counter part, President Obama, and his economic policies.

The Republicans are very optimistic. This Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Forum was full of people who truly believe that getting Obama out of the White House is possible.

The Texas delegates were some of the most cheerful; they all wore the same cloth with the colors and symbol of their state and in cowboy hats. We should not forget that Texas is one of the states were the Republican Party is strong and is the native state of the former President George W. Bush.

The Republican National Committee Chairman, Reince Priebus, was the one that started the activities this Tuesday. He first reminded the crowd that under President Obama’s leadership there have been almost 23 million people who struggle to get a job.

Reince Priebus also said that he is convinced that the greatness of the United States comes from its people, not from the Federal Government, which he said was what President Obama believes. Priebus also accused Obama of having no experience managing a business.

Priebus also made reference to the two national debt clocks installed in the Tampa Bay Forum, one showing the total U.S. national debt and the other showing how much the national debt has increased since the convention started. Priebus reminded the crowd that the national debt is almost $16 trillion dollars and that since Obama took office, it has increased $5 trillions; Priebus criticized Obama’s administration for unnecessary spending.

The Wisconsin congressman, Sean Duffy, also criticized President Obama saying that young people are not able to live the American dream because of Obama’s failed economic policies. Duffy said that this has been the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression; he also said America needs to vote for Ryan and Romney to get fiscal responsibility in Washington.

Most of the speakers this Tuesday criticized the government unnecessary spending and also accused the Federal Government for intervening in areas were it shouldn’t — like in religious freedom, by forcing religious sponsored institutions like schools or hospitals to cover contraception methods in their employees insurances.

Congressman Tim Griffin, second district of Arkansas, also accused Obama for setting a new unemployment record; Fisher also said that under the Obama administration the government has taken $716 billion from Medicare to Pay for Obamacare. Congressman Fisher also said that Obama has opposed to the construction of the Keystone Pipeline, which, according to him, would be very beneficial to the country and would help to achieve energy independence of the United States.

Griffin also said that Obama has no idea on how to solve America’s problems and with Joe Biden as his navigator, things would not get better. Tim Griffin reminded the crowd that under a Romney administration things could be better.

Senate candidate for Nebraska, Deb Fisher, also had something to say to President Barack Obama. At the beginning of the speech she explained that she decided to enter politics because of the record spending, record debt and record unemployment the country is facing. She invited Obama to look to Nebraska, which has an unemployment rate of 4%, which was achieved by cutting spending and balancing the budget, and also letting the private sector do what it does best, which is growing the economy.
